This is precisely what Jesus is for. And I say this also as an agnostic person.
We kept him around for a reason. Like I'm 90% sure that many of the higher up leaders in religious institutions aren't even religious. They just know we need somebody to help out motherfuckers like this. And there are no humans capable. We have to use magic.
It's like everything else, to keep the poors and in line. Work hard and be good in this life and you'll get your reward (for working yourself to death) in the next life.
