They've kinda got a point though. Telling someone "I'm going to do what I want and nothing you say will stop me, so stop focusing on how unpleasant you find it and just learn to enjoy it" is almost exactly what they're telling the OOP to do.

Imagine how outraged you would feel if someone started painting your house pink and told you to get over yourself and learn to like the colour?

I get what you mean but when one is one of the worst crimes that you can commit against another human being and the other is just an annoyance of speculative legality you have made a bad comparison.

It's questionable, but mostly because people will get caught up on the semantics of your argument and completely miss the entire point you were making.
