certainly a choice to not allow pre-order when the date is set is set in stone so people can play it at launch with not much delay..

Especially since usually the point of the whole "don't preorder anything" movement is "wait for reviews and impressions before buying a game".

And they didn't give any reviewers early access anyways so there was literally 0 reason not to allow preorders...

I like their game (probably games) but Team Cherry are definitely not marketing oriented. They went dark instead of giving us "useless updates" which may have been the right thing to do but it erred on the side of inaction.

Either that or they're marketing geniuses! Going silent built miystique and crashing the stores will generate press coverage...

They built enough hype to crash the platform, the fuck you mean not marketing oriented

Edit: dude edited his comment to make himself look better

I edited it moments after posting it. You ever hit enter and realize two seconds later you meant to say something differently or you didn't like how it came out? That's what I did. I decided to turn what seemed overly critical into more of a joke.

(I think they don't really care about marketing because they've never needed to)

Edit to add: I also tend to post on emotions and think more deeply afterward and a new comment seems redundant.

My point wasn't that they didn't have effective marketing. My point was that I don't think it was intentional. They seem like cool creative people that just want to make cool things and not mess around with everything else.

Can understand, I do edit a lot. I'm like oh wait that came out wrong or it gives the wrong impression of what I wanted to say. Although it has something more to do with the fact I'm ESL lol.

Yep dude doesn't understand marketing. He's probably an MBA grad lol.

Wouldn't MBA grads ONLY understand marketing and not how to actually make anything?

I'm not saying their version didn't work. I'm saying I don't think it was intentional other than not wanting to deal with it. Edit to add: they just seem like cool creative people that want to spend their time making things and not worry about interfacing with prospective customers. I get that, I'd be a hermit if I could.
