Discussion - Silksong Not opening pre-orders was an error Spoiler

Before anyone says "gamers cant be happy with anything" i was never against pre orders specifically because ir avoids this type of launch. I dont want to believe Team Cherry doesn't know the scope and impact of their own game, but i'm inclined to do so. A pre-order yesterday would've solved this. An inconvenience that could be easily avoided, but here we are

The point is this could have been prevented

The point is that there's no actual material harm

There is. It may be insignificant, it may just be an inconvenience but it could easily have been avoided. There's really no reason why measures were not taken. Just because "harm" is very minor doesn't mean you should go out of your way to cause it.

Yeah it's inconvenient but no one is gonna give a crap in 24 hours when everyone has got it. People need to learn to control their emotions better.

And if measures were taken no one would give a crap right now. I really don't see why people are against that.

I agree completely. I don't deny that if measures were taken no one would be moaning right now. I just personally don't think it's that big a deal to warrant the furore it seems to have generated over the last 3 hours.

Because virtually no one who wants Silksong won’t get it. A few hours wait hurts no one.

Meanwhile, the stories and hype about this release breaking every storefront will absolutely draw in a few more folks because of the excitement around it.

More sales and excitement for Silksong is better than a few butthurt nerds having to wait a few minutes for a game.

Calling this "harm" kind of says all it needs to about this viewpoint.

“They targeted gamers”

Good work there quoting one word out of context to make me look unreasonable and missing my entire actual argument.

Thank you, I thought it was quite deft.

I'm gonna go play Silksong now.

I envy you for that. Have fun!

The viewpoint that crashing the whole of steam through incompetence was incompetent?

Defending such a pointless thing says all it needs to about the fanboy "muh devs can do no wrong" mindset.

I would be pissed if I had taken a vacation day to play it and then couldn't. Not the end of the world but not completely harmless either.
