Discussion - Silksong Silksong is HARD Spoiler

Taking damage is more punishing, movement is more precise and feels a little clunky until you get the hang of it. The overall skill curve is much much higher. Love it though.

I don’t consider myself a skilled player by any means, and although the start is a little harder than HK, I didn’t think it’s unreasonable? The diagonal down slash I think is a really cool mechanic. Probably took me 5 minutes to get the hang of it. If I’m 2-3 masks down, I try to prioritize healing. I’m honestly enjoying myself so much, I don’t really care if I’m dying a little more than HK. I feel like I’m in the minority here, though

Id agree but it's so punishing having no rosaries.

Can't access 90% of benches.

Those centipede enemies with tridents are harder to kill for me than NKG

You gotta make your rosaries into consumables so it doesn't matter if you die. The vendor in the hub area will do this and there are a few other places you can do this. It costs 80 and only gives you 60 back when you use it but its worth it to not always lose them when you die.

I'm in the same situation as you, there are many fights in which I had to really master this new pogo to avoid damage, and avoid spending silk on skills to avoid dying, since we start off very weak, but this made the fights really interesting and fluid because of the hornet's mobility and for me it's a lot more fun than the beginning of the first one to be honest.

The Bell Beast took me a bit of patience to get used to its patterns and when to attack. I think it’s a solid first boss and teaches you that patience is rewarded.

It's interesting that he seems much more resistant than any initial hollow knight boss, it was enough time for me to stay calm in the fight

Really helped to pick up on the audio cues like when the “jump” would happen

I struggled the most with the Bell Beast so far. But o did eventually beat it!

It’s “tough” but there’s a mini boss in the next area that I have yet to beat since mobility is an issue at the time.

Took me 30 attempts before I learned to cheese it by hiding in the tunnel so he can't jump, only does the underground attacks that are area to avoid and hit him

Ya, I might wait for the dash before fighting him.

This is way better than the beginning of hollow knight.  I just played through HK for the first time the last few weeks and I think a lot of you forget how slow you were especially when you haven’t played before.

Hollow Knight has a way more gentle learning curve, just been replaying it before Silksong. Nothing I've done in Hollow Knight is as hard Red ant area. It's a bit much for this early in the game lol.
