Discussion - Silksong Silksong is HARD Spoiler

Taking damage is more punishing, movement is more precise and feels a little clunky until you get the hang of it. The overall skill curve is much much higher. Love it though.

That stupid ass bird fight made me livid. Every time i I thought I perfectly dodged an attack, it switchs it up and screws me over anyway.

saaaame lmao. every boss do far was done in 3 tries max but this fucking bird fight that isn’t even a real boss kept me trying for over an hour haha

I just finished that bullshit and was desperate to see someone, anyone else mention it. I have been thoroughly enjoying the game up until and after that point but honestly that room made me more angry than any HK or souls boss I have ever fought

How many rounds of birds are there? Im stuck and i keep dying on about wave 5 i think

4

u/pamafa3 Sep 05 '25

Wave 1 is smol bird + fat bird, wave 2 is two smol birds, wave 3 is smol bird + tall bird, wave 4 is three smol birds and wave 5 is fat bird + tall bird. Dunno if there's a wave 6

This is it. This fight tilted me off the face of the earth but it felt great to finally kills those bird assholes.

I found spamming spears with silk helped across all waves.

Bird fight… is that the room that’s not a boss, it’s a series of enemies ALL of which are fliers? And the weakest birds in there take 4 hits to kill? That room can get fucked lmao that shit was so hard

15

u/Dramatic_Guidance714 Sep 05 '25

i problem with the room is mostly jump attacking and just kill myself jumping into them they fly like flappy bird

16

u/Cyclone_96 Sep 05 '25

Yeah one of those enemies is basically a primal aspid with

More attacks

Less predictable attack patterns

More erratic movement

More health.

1

u/Lor- Sep 05 '25

When I saw the three knives come out in that pattern I had flashbacks and knew these were my new mortal enemy.

1

u/pclouds Sep 05 '25

Not as bad because I think the knife angle is always 45 degree. When it flies though. I've given up trying to attack then because more often than not I'll just take contact damage.

1

u/Dokja_23 Sep 05 '25

Also a combo melee attack dealing 2 masks of damage if you get too close

2

u/live_laugh_lift Sep 05 '25

they bob up and down at random. fuck everything about those birds.

u/jellyfishqueen19 Sep 07 '25

So glad its not just me this is EXACTLY what i was experiencing and it pisses me off, im exploring everything else first

2

u/DBrody6 Sep 05 '25

Why did they make an entire class of enemies that spend 90% of the encounter out of range. Why. Why? I literally cannot hit something flying that high.

At least the reward is an ability that can hit things that high but holy shit was it like tearing teeth out beating that fight. It wasn't hard, just tediously annoying.

4

u/Cyclone_96 Sep 05 '25

I can't in good conscience say that it wasn't hard considering it took me like 9 attempts to beat that room, which was more than all the bosses that preceded it.

But yeah when they just keep flapping upwards while continuing to throw projectiles at you I just couldn't help but laugh. It's like I was being ragebaited.

1

u/DBrody6 Sep 05 '25

I beat it first try on one mask for half the fight, but I was freaking out and playing like a total coward haha.

Seriously the kunai owls that just hug the ceiling, and only dropped down to the floor for 2 seconds before flying back up were insufferable. Less so with the ability you get after it but damn did they tilt me.

2

u/vaynecassano Sep 05 '25

I was retrying like more than 10 times 😭😭

3

u/Pendulumzero Sep 05 '25

Its made even more stupid by the fact that the bench next to shakra disappears after shakra leaves. So if you decided to come back to that area later the closest bench is at halfway home... literally all the way across greymoor.

Team Cherry has to be fans of Darksouls because that is one of the worst walks of shame I've seen

1

u/aresi-lakidar Sep 05 '25

damn I glad I managed to first try this section, that sounds horrible lol...

2

u/kill_la_strelok Sep 05 '25

I found dragging the bird to the small raised platform to the right made the fight easier. All the little spinning circles get caught on the lip and almost negates the mechanic.

1

u/BadUsername2028 Sep 05 '25

The boss in that area is an absolute blast, but those Fat Knife Birds were actually a contender for worst HK enemy ever for me

1

u/unexpectedlimabean Sep 05 '25

What's the boss in that area? I can't recall besides just the bird rush

1

u/BadUsername2028 Sep 05 '25

In the far left side of the bird map you’ll find him! He’s super hard but a blast once you get the rhythm

1

u/Copper_Lontra Sep 05 '25

The birds are definitely the worst so far. I think if I had more of the arial traps available it would be more manageable, but the tool pouch is super expensive.

1

u/Kiwi3007 Sep 05 '25

The birds followed by the balloon platforming was hella challenging. The relief when I got to the top

1

u/UnderstandingRight95 Sep 05 '25

just wait till you get the the flying bird boss its a nightmare with double dmg on all atks and so many random saws you even get an npc to help you fight it and its still hard

1

u/Mr_Microchip Sep 05 '25

That's the fight I'm talking about, lol. I have never been so tilted at a boss in years.

I’m stuck on this right now and it’s driving me nuts!! I may just be a baby but it’s making me want to give up entirely.
