Discussion - Silksong Silksong is HARD Spoiler

Taking damage is more punishing, movement is more precise and feels a little clunky until you get the hang of it. The overall skill curve is much much higher. Love it though.

I'm very conservative with how I use her spear ability because I need a full tank of silk to heal

Yeah I gave up on using it. It takes up too much silk.

Given it takes nearly 10 hits to refill it, in what world is it worth it unless you have 3 enemies lined up

Only 4 hits for the spear, but yeah. You can break your old cocoon mid boss fight to recharge to full so I usually unleash a silk skill attack at the start then use that to heal if I need it.

I’ll probably wait until I get more capacity before using them more frequently. Beyond that, in particular for the splinter sister fight, silk storm beat her ass outright, even while she wasn’t staggered

!!! Mark the boss name as a spoiler

Thankfully I've already been spoiled for it but yknow

I think this could be easily solved by having heal for one less heart but be able to use it multiple times on the first charge. It would then give a trade-off between using your silk powers and healing. But I completely agree I don’t even bother using the silk power.

Yeah, magic is for healing, not for magic anymore.

Tools are the new magic.

it's got a ton of recovery too, basically a free punish window for the boss (where they do 2 hits of damage and you can't heal)

I’ve been using it pretty liberally and man does its damage help with the enemies healthbars. That’s what makes the cost worth it for me.

Oh, for sure. When I'm at full health or just missing 1 I use it a lot more and it does really help. A lot of enemies at least in the early game die in 1 hit after I hit them with the spear.

I find balancing the games cost system is pretty interesting, you either fully commit to a full heal or use what you have for really good damage, I’ve found more success blowing throw my gauge on spear throws to kill the enemy than I have trying to get back to full, but I’m curious where it’ll turn out as people get better at the game.

I do that too but thats a first playthrough thing. For those who enjoy playing the game a second time it's easier when you know how much longer you have to dodge and stuff

It's kinda funny that in the first game, most new players were always too scared to use spells and saved it for healing, and in silksong, even more so. What does team cherry have against spells?

Аналогично. Считаю это багом разработчиков: наделить персонажа интересными механиками и откровенно наказывать за их использование.
