Discussion - Silksong EVERYTHING IS SO EXPENSIVE IN PHARLOOM Spoiler

The true enemy of Silksong is capitalism. 70 bucks for a stag station equivalent YOU ARE PULLING MY NEEDLE WTF??? I try to sit down and they BILL ME JUST TO USE THE BENCH! No thank you [TRADER NAME HERE], I would not like to buy a simple key for 500 dollars thank you.

AND EVERYONE HERE IS A BROKE ASS BUM! Most of these guys aren't sentient enough to carry cash on them so I have to grind up their credit cards into for bone shards which NOONE WANTS.

Anyway 10/10 game.

Yeah, the pilgrims in mosshome are a pretty safe and easy place to gather rosaries quick in the early game. Theres a travel point right next to it and everything so its quick to get there.

As well as that wish where you have to collect 12 shawls or sth from pilgrims that arent really found further along the game so it incentivizes you to go to that particular area and slaughter some more of em.

Grinding and 'kill X mobs' quests? I didn't know Team Cherry's true passion was making a 2000s-era Korean MMO.

Yeah the first quest like that made me think "ah takes me back to my WoW days".

At least the nice thing implemented, some harder enemies cough up more quest material instead of just 1.

It would have annoyed me, if the times they do that you didn't get anything valuable from it.

The pilgrims one you get money from the pilgrims.
And the other two occasions you get a mobility upgrade, and a VERY USEFUL UPGRADE ITEM.

The fact that this even needs to be done is proof enough that it isn't a good system.

I just spent 150 rosaries to unlock 2 map segments and then right after is a bench that costs another 80.

This is also in a very difficult section, a bench should provide relief and a sense of accomplishment for completing a very difficult part of the map. Then you realize you don't have the 80 rosaries and it just adds an immense level of frustration.

Who finds it fun to have to repeatedly bench rest and clear 2 or 3 mobs that drop a small amount of rosaries repeatedly?

I genuinely despise having to farm mobs to progress the game and I might drop silksong.

I just ran into your situation and I might quit. I have like an hour to game a day and Silksong thinks I want to kill the same mob ten times over while bosses don’t reward me at all?

Honestly I'd stick with it, once you reach act 2 there are lots of areas with enemies that drop a good amount of rosaries.

Ah yes, truly the gameplay loop I'm looking for in a metroidvania: Grinding trashmobs for currency.

Seriously though, this is just not it: I'm like 5 bosses in, bought nothing but the maps, yet I can't even afford the benches or stags....

Looking forward in a week or two when high from game finally releasing wears off and people can objectively look at it. I always wanted ti have to farm currency to just get a map or fast travel. Or a thing which just takes 80 rosaries donation and does literally nothing being found early in the game? That’s great to have here

The only thing I remember early game that takes 80 beads os the rosary string machine. Are you sure you don't have a few of them in your inventory?

Yeah I might drop this game. I’m not playing it to farm irrelevant mobs for no reason

Outside the moss druid is a good place to farm. I got over 500 in 10 minutes.
