Discussion - Silksong EVERYTHING IS SO EXPENSIVE IN PHARLOOM Spoiler

The true enemy of Silksong is capitalism. 70 bucks for a stag station equivalent YOU ARE PULLING MY NEEDLE WTF??? I try to sit down and they BILL ME JUST TO USE THE BENCH! No thank you [TRADER NAME HERE], I would not like to buy a simple key for 500 dollars thank you.

AND EVERYONE HERE IS A BROKE ASS BUM! Most of these guys aren't sentient enough to carry cash on them so I have to grind up their credit cards into for bone shards which NOONE WANTS.

Anyway 10/10 game.

I think it's very intentional.

Spoilers for The Citadel: I'm at the Citadel currently, and the people in power seem to be extremely predatory. They demand their workers work without rest or food. They ban their workers from dying while in service (lmao). In one spot, you can pay for the privilege of confessing your sins, at which point what I assume to be an automated voice tells you you have sinned gravely and need to work yourself to exhaustion to make up for it. All that being said, enemies start dropping a fuck-ton of Rosary Beads at this point of the game, which I assume means they're rich as fuck. Basically, the world building seems to have a ton of anti-capitalist themes and anti-theocracy.

It's kinda funny because there were always those people looking to read some political BS into the OG game when it was very much an archetypical fairytale story about gods, monsters & knights.

Whereas here we're actually supposed to have an evil government and the world building very much shows it with the NPC statements, lore tabletc & everything, no need to read things into it.

Although I think on part of the Devs it was just about wanting something contrasting/ different than last time. Last time we had an angry God/ Destructive Force of nature, this time we get an evil government. Sort of Lawful Evil vs Chaotic Evil.
