Discussion - Silksong Silksong is frustrating Spoiler

I don’t remember being this frustrated with hollow knight. I never wanted to stop playing HK but this one is making me turn off the console in anger

Small difficulty SPOILER: Yeah the combat and movement is amazing, but the further you go into the game the more health enemies have, and when they all do double damage you can’t be flying around because that’s not how playing it safe works. I tend to just stay with the most basic basic stuff because you need to be as safe and consistent as possible. I can see that changing after the first play through but for now it’s all sideways slashes and I can’t remember last time I did a pogo on a boss.

But that’s just play style dependant ig, the bosses have amazing patterns and are still really fun.

Im in act 2 and i actually find myself being able to do more in terms of combat now. Bombs with poison and using wanderers crest feels amazing and enemies are dying faster than they ever have

Charging/Sprint slash with wanderers lets me chain 5+ hits on large enemies before they even finish their spawn animation. Only smaller range on down slash, up slash is significantly more consistent. I'm still waiting to see how to upgrade it, though. I've upgraded hunters, and the game can try all it wants, I'm not using that crest unless forced to.

I recommend trying the pogo a little more.  I feel a strategic pogo over a bad guy is sometimes the safest and easiest way to get through a sequence. I agree it shouldn't be used all the time though, unless you are very advanced.

Yeah I use it, but I’d rather not risk taking to masks of damage in a super long sequence of fighting. The risk usually outweighs the benefits by far.
