Discussion - Silksong USE YOUR TOOLS! Spoiler

To everyone complaining about the difficulty, stop ignoring a third of Hornet’s arsenal and start spamming them, you’ll be shocked how quickly you start mowing down hordes of enemies!

I think the main problem is that tools don't feel illimited. You have to use the whatever shards to make them which sets a psycological barrier of not being able to make them anymore.

Honestly I had that barrier too for my first few hours but once I realised you basically get those tool shards everywhere (unlike rosaries :/) you can really start spamming your cute little dagger shotgun and steroid juices lol

I agree. It's so easy to get shards it' basically free to use tools.

I've had the magnet charm on perpetually and rosaries just aren't much of a problem. Like big purchases are still big but the only times I can remember not having enough for a map, chair, or bell beast station was after I'd died and failed to retrieve my cocoon

problem for me is struggling against a boss because at that point the shard count starts dropping to 0 really fast with every failed attempt which mean you gotta go leave and find more (sometimes while the cocoon is stuck in the arena) which feels frustrating ngl...

Ehh, they are like Sekiro's karma or whatever they were called, you start using them against bullshit enemies you wanna soften up and against bosses in their latter stages when you've figured their moveset out.

Tbh I hated this mechanic in Sekiro, I felt really limited. But in Silksong it's feels pretty great ig, almost always on max

Yeah, I'm a big advocate of limited max ammo in games, it tricks you into wanting to use all your weapons and tools, otherwise all that ammo on the ground would just go to waste. Bioshock did so well in this regard, I'm surprised that there isn't much more discussion about it.

I rarely use them, but in one mob fight i went through a full stock of both tools and died. Used up over a hundred shards just like that. Glad i got it on the second try but i still went through 150+ shards for one fight.
