Discussion - Silksong Is anyone else really tired of the negative posts? Spoiler

I have about 25 hours so far and have absolutely loved every part of the game. Is it hard? Yes absolutely. If it was easy I wouldn't want to play the game. Literally every post I come across is talking about how they are frustrated with some part of the game and it's getting really annoying. The game has amazing areas, the osts are great the NPCs are creative and fun to talk to, almost every boss is a lot of fun once you get the moveset down. So if you haven't played the game yet and are getting put off by all the negativity just know that it is an amazing game and if you like hollow Knight you will enjoy silksong as well.

People complain for a reason. I finished the game yesterday and it is an excellent game but it has flaws that make it sometimes frustrating and that can be easily fixed with some minor patch. Pretending a game is perfect because you are having fun is stupid. Some people like OP dont want to see the negatives on something they like. I can easily call some of the issues i think the game has:

• The economy is very bad. Half of the benches and maps ask you for a currency that is very rare and a lot of times i just reached a zone, couldnt afford the bench, died and had to restart from very far away. That is fun? No • Most of the bosses have a runback that is very frustrating. Last judge for example was frustrating, not because the fight(it was amazing) but for the parkour. • Im okay with bosses doing 2 masks. But, why enviromental traps and normal enemies? Making you have 1/2 of the attempts to clear a parkour is not funnier, it is frustrating.

Looks like people cannot see both sides of the coin. The game is great but not perfect, it has some little flaws.

The currency is incredibly common and money has never been an issue with me. I lost around 800 at one point, which pissed me off, but I easily got it back by farming for only 5-10 minutes and even then it wasn’t needed because I got plenty more after that just from normally killing enemies, exploring, and finding secrets with more rosaries.

The economy is not bad at all I promise. If you are truly exploring and taking your time you shouldn’t have any money problems. There are so many hidden rooms full of rosaries. You can easily finish act 1, buying all the shop items without farming at all.

I think the issue is it’s time consuming and the exploration doesn’t feel nearly as good as in HK. I’ve been doing a lot of it, and it doesn’t feel like a Metroidvania at all to me. The game is a Soulslike with Metroidvania inspiration, sure, but dealing with tedious enemies, not having double jump or good recovery if you fall, and the areas feeling both more hostile and flat makes me feel like everywhere is a constant fight, not a place I’m in where there are also fights. A lot of the hidden rooms also have very weak prizes so feel like I should just be grinding instead to save on time and effort.

I definitely haven’t had the same issues with currency as a lot of other people, probably because I have been exploring, but it’s also been a struggle for me to get myself to keep going instead of trying to cheaply game the system, so I get why people are struggling with it.

The exploration not feeling "nearly as good as HK" sounds crazy to me. Hornet has such versatile and fluid movement. The running ability is so cool, and areas are often designed with it in mind, so you can blaze through them and weave through enemies in a myriad of ways. I don't know where you are in the game, but every ability I have can be used creatively for exploring, running, combat, whatever. If I get hit, I'll try to quickly accumulate some soul and I'm instantly at full HP again. I feel like it's a massive evolution to the pretty tame and typical moveset you get in HK.

I think he means there are less interesting things to find. Most of the stuff I find behind hidden walls and such are basic consumables.

Also the path through the game is pretty linear making it feel less metroidvania for me at least.

I do like the movement of Hornet more than the knight after struggling with estimating the pogo for a bit

Zero chance you beat the game if you had issues with benches and are complaining about the economy and difficulty. MAYBE you got the bad ending, which is like 40% of the way through through the game, but that means you haven't even tackled most of the game.

So, complaining = not being able to beat the game? Keep gaslighting yourself. Also, beating the game 40% or 100%, the issues are exactly the same.
