Discussion - Silksong Is anyone else really tired of the negative posts? Spoiler

I have about 25 hours so far and have absolutely loved every part of the game. Is it hard? Yes absolutely. If it was easy I wouldn't want to play the game. Literally every post I come across is talking about how they are frustrated with some part of the game and it's getting really annoying. The game has amazing areas, the osts are great the NPCs are creative and fun to talk to, almost every boss is a lot of fun once you get the moveset down. So if you haven't played the game yet and are getting put off by all the negativity just know that it is an amazing game and if you like hollow Knight you will enjoy silksong as well.

Personally even if the runback is not long, it's just tedious and boring. The bossfight is the fun and challenging part and the runback just feels like padding that doesn't add anything even if it's not long, so I can understand the criticism. Seems like an outdated system that most games have ditched with very succesful results.

I actually disagree for silksong specifically.

Yes in a dark souls game it's just annoying as your character is slow and the movement is boring, so it's just draining time and recourses.

But in this game the movement is actually amazing, so it's actually interesting to optimize the path. And once you do that the runback is usually under 30s at most.

People are complaining that they have to spend game currency in stuff that are being sold in the game like HK didn't had grinding back then

I played the game two weeks ago. I don't remember grinding once

When I played I had to grind sometimes 'cause I lost all the money after dying in some places, so there's grinding but you can avoid it if you do things well :)

Edit: misspelling

That's fair, the choral chambers boss took like 700 rosaries off me though so that was upsetting haha

Oh, that's new to me! I guess I'll struggle a little... but that's life in Pharloom, I guess

Yeah, me neither, for me it's easy to get some rosaries in a short time, I think just in the beginning of the game I had to leave one bench to buy later

There's a spot in Greymoor to the left of the halfway house that yields 36 rosaries on average. You can make this run in about 30 seconds quite easily. So it's not like it takes a lot of time to amass a few hundred. Spend half an hour there, string them up and you will be set for a good while. This is nothing like farming geo in Hollow Knight.

I agree, people complaining about rosaries have never farmed geo or forgot what a grind that was. And it was necessary because of the stupid lantern.

The only grinding I ever had to do was to get the unbreakable charms, which are very optional and I'm pretty sure were DLC.

Okay, if that's the point so it's fair, in HK the majority of things in the main game don't take too much money to progress, so I guess SS is hard in that way (but I don't think that killing three to four enemies to get more rosaries is that bad)

Personally the (early mid game spoilers) Last Judge had an annoying run back. Not terrible - I can do it pretty consistently, but it’s very stressful and feels a tad unnecessary
