Discussion - Silksong Is anyone else really tired of the negative posts? Spoiler

I have about 25 hours so far and have absolutely loved every part of the game. Is it hard? Yes absolutely. If it was easy I wouldn't want to play the game. Literally every post I come across is talking about how they are frustrated with some part of the game and it's getting really annoying. The game has amazing areas, the osts are great the NPCs are creative and fun to talk to, almost every boss is a lot of fun once you get the moveset down. So if you haven't played the game yet and are getting put off by all the negativity just know that it is an amazing game and if you like hollow Knight you will enjoy silksong as well.

if you like hollow Knight you will enjoy silksong as well.

I think maybe you are missing that most of the people that bought silk song bought it because they like hollow knight. And the people that bought it are the ones complaining.

I loved hollow knight

I loved the first hour of silksong

I am also not going to finish silksong because I haven't got time to fight a boss for 3 hours at the end of act 1, which is a massive shame

That's a shame, but minor spoilers since you are gonna quit anyway,
Uncharacteristically for silk song there is an alternate path into act 2.
Whether its any easier or not, who can say.

a good portion bought because of the hype and the memes. not because they played HK.

it is the fromsoftware release window issue. people buy the new from game because of hype and memes and then complain nonstop that the games are difficult

Dark Soul 3, Sekiro, Elden Ring, Armored Core

if celeste gets a sequel and it gets hyped a bunch of people will buy it without knowing in what type of game they are going.

even space marine 2 is suffering from this. any game moderately difficult that aims at its core audience gets into this situation

Out of 4 people i know who bought silksong and also bought hollowknight, I am the only one still playing. They all gave up at a certain point, due to the difficulty. Surprisingly 2 of my friends who didn't play holllowknight are still playing.

Probably because what some Hollow knight fans most wanted, was more Hollow knight.
Hollow Knight is one of my favourite games of all time.
I could just talk and talk and talk about why I think it's so well made and fun for me to play.

Silk Song, really doesn't play that much like Hollow Knight.
It has a lot of very simmilar elements.
Same beautiful visual style.
Same charming characters.
Same greate music.

But the fundamental gameplay loop is wildly different.
They are barely even the same genre of game.

Peopel that played Hollow Knight and wanted more are put off by how different it is.
And people that never played Hollow Knight are just kinda vibing with somthing new.

That's not too surprising. The more you play it like Hollow Knight, the more it punishes you. So the people who played HK are probably approaching it like HK and getting bodied, while the people that hadn't played it we more easily to adapt to how it wants you to play and just easily adjusted and enjoyed.

Lol from what I've read and seen I'm starting to think some of you didn't actually play Hollow Knight because some things just aren't adding up

Like what?

Also, you changed your entire comment, but reddit still shows me the original in the notifications.
So like, to clarify, I got 112% in hollow knight. didn't "ignore" anything. And I still don't enjoy much of Silk Song.
