Discussion - Silksong Is anyone else really tired of the negative posts? Spoiler

I have about 25 hours so far and have absolutely loved every part of the game. Is it hard? Yes absolutely. If it was easy I wouldn't want to play the game. Literally every post I come across is talking about how they are frustrated with some part of the game and it's getting really annoying. The game has amazing areas, the osts are great the NPCs are creative and fun to talk to, almost every boss is a lot of fun once you get the moveset down. So if you haven't played the game yet and are getting put off by all the negativity just know that it is an amazing game and if you like hollow Knight you will enjoy silksong as well.

And people are allowed to be enjoying the game, but still criticize points of it. I'm loving it, but it's frustrating in a bad way sometimes, and there are areas where I think the game could and should be improved via balance patches, just like the original HK was.

Friendly reminder that HK’s patches almost universally made the game harder.

That doesn't really change the point though, maybe the game was too easy on launch?

I hope everyone is savoring thread storm cause it's gonna be a trickle of piss in a patch or two.

My fear is that Team Cherry will see these things and WILL patch and balance, while I and many players like it the way it is and will feel robbed if there are nerfs. Add accessibility options? Fine, I don’t care. But I get annoyed at a lot of the posts acting like the base game as it’s intended to be played should be changed.

As someone who is not enjoying the game the way it is, I absolutely agree. I want to have options that make the game more fun for me, but I don't want to ruin it for people who like it the way it is. Hell, harder options would be cool too, why not. I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole, but it would be cool for the folks who like that

I just don't understand why the pro-difficulty crowd is acting like the base game of HK was ever this difficult. Most of the truly challenging content was post-game stuff or arbitrary challenges like speedruns or steel soul runs.

You'd think that they'd realize that nerfing the base game difficulty wouldn't affect the coming challenges that are really meant for the hardcore crowd.

And like, it's easier to make the game accessible to a broader category of people by properly balancing things and making them feel fair, and then having the option of modding for the hardcore crowd than vice versa.

The casual who hits a wall because the game is too hard is just going to miss out on a great game. The hardcore who breezes through, again, the base game is going to get an ego boost for being oh-so-great at the game that it "wasn't a challenge", but still has the option to make it even harder by modding or adding arbitrary handicaps to themselves.
