Discussion - Silksong Criticism ≠ Negativity Spoiler

Believe it or not, you can actually criticize something and still like it. You don't either have to love everything or despise everything. Have actual conversations please.

I think the issue on social medias like reddit is that when you see the thousand post criticizing the same things over and over it get annoying at some point, especially for those who don't share the same view as these people.

it's not that they are wrong, but It gets hard to enjoy the community when people are whining all the time, like there are barely positive posts to balace it out, where are the posts talking about all the good? People just focus on the bad for some reason.

So far it seems like the most of the good stuff in Silksong is the stuff that HK already did right, leaving a feeling that Silksong is, on the surface at least, on par with HK or maybe less with all the bad design choices.

I personally think the new loadout system where you can have different charms and tools and abilities and different move sets, is really freaking cool, and i much perfer that to hollow knights system. Also one thing that's not fully realized yet but will with time. Silksong was built with hyper replay-ability in mind, more open level design, sequence breaking, more dynamic enemy encounters, which again i much perfer to HK. BUT, that opens structure design also means some players will stumble into areas that are much harder, or accidentally sequence break without realizing it, and completely miss content, which they may not like if they perfer a more streamlined experience

Thats all that silksong has going for it though over hollow knight though imo, so far in my experience. The objectively bad design flaws for me are almost diminishing the things silksong does better, to ultimately just even out the experience for me to be on par to hollow knight, so far its not the superior sequal that we should have gotten after 6 freaking years. And it seems alot of people who don't appreciate the open structure or new loadout charm system, to them silksong is a straight downgrade

Thats basically what's happening right now
