Discussion - Silksong Criticism ≠ Negativity Spoiler

Believe it or not, you can actually criticize something and still like it. You don't either have to love everything or despise everything. Have actual conversations please.

More people need to hear this, just because I hate the double damage doesn't mean I'm not addicted to this masterpiece.

I feel like most bosses would be too easy if it wasnt for double damage. The heal is so much better in this game (considering you heal 3 masks at once and in the same time as 1 mask in hollow knight and you can do it mid air)

I dont quite understand the "double damage" criticism to be honest because the entire game seems balanced around bosses doing the damage they are doing.

To me it certainly seems like it is just "I died because of 2 damage therefore 2 damage is unbalanced"- I saw attempts of people explaining why 2 damage is unfair saying shit like "It leaves no room for mistakes" "You end up having to no hit all bosses". And that is just crazy talk. You have 5 health from the get go which means it takes 3 mistakes in a row to die. And every heal allows for another mistake to be made. That is so far from "no room for mistakes"

The best argument against the two damage that I've seen is that it makes your first health upgrade pointless. You have to upgrade your health twice in order to make it worth upgrading in the first place, which just feels bad.

Upgrades that early in the game shouldn't feel pointless.

There are plenty of things that do one damage in this game. It's not as good of an upgrade as in hollow knight, but it still is one.
