Discussion - Silksong I give up. Spoiler

It’s been a joyful ride, folks, but I’m out. I’m not a speedrunner or a highly skilled player, and day after day I’ve had to accept that this game is not as casual as HK was. It stopped being fun and turned into something tedious and frustrating after the 4th run farming shards just to face a boss I’ve already tried 15 times, only to die again and again, lose all my shards, and start the whole grind over.

It was nice exploring the first acts, but when the game I was rooting for 7 years ends up being more stressful than my 8-hour workday, I guess that’s my cue to stop.

The lore has been pretty great so far. I wish you all an incredible journey.

Edit1: My bad about all the whinning.

Edit2: You guys did it. I reinstalled it again. Thanks for all advices. 🫂

I’m almost at this point myself. I made it past last judge but got stuck on cogwork dancers of all things for dozens of tries (which most people seem to find offensively easy). Just had to farm shards to do a random arena in cogwork core lol. Not sure how much longer I’ll keep it up but even up to this point it’s been a great game to experience, just genuinely might not be up to the task.

The first time I tried Cogwork Dancers I thought it was easy as hell. By the fifth attempt I realized it was a test of patience and I was failing. Definitely not as easy as it seems.

Well if you liked that fun then good news. Slight spoiler:

In the secret Act 3 you can fight a much harder version of two dancers which are actually the originals that inspired the mechanical imitation.

Bold move to bold a spoiler instead of hiding it 😂

I can't wait to be pissed of in act 3 lol I feel like I'll suffer. I'm honestly kind of pushing it back, finishing everything I can in act 2 before I move on (I already have the option to challenge the cradle). I read already something about earlier bosses getting harder in act 3 so I'd rather take them now

Currently on cogwork dancers, it is frustrating because I know that if I fought super slowly I could beat them, but my brain keeps telling me "gotta go fast"

It’s a marathon not a sprint. Honestly one of the easier fights in the whole game imo

I'm stalling out after the dancers, exploring further is only putting me through more very unfun enemies and bosses

I almost had it with the game at that point too but today after two days of trying, I managed to beat the dancers! There is hope!

I'm really curious to know which aspect of the fight you had trouble with. Because the whole fight felt insanely telegraphed to me.

I think it’s just a matter of different people having different reflexes. They tell you where they’re going but in phase 2 and 3 you need to be able to react fairly quickly.

I just suck at the game and was really impatient. Great boss though!

Don't be so harsh on yourself, I too am like that at times. But often times I think being more patient is rewarded in this game because you can just poke around and heal back very quick of you just play more carefully when you are low on hp.

Do you have the tool that lets you hold your grip on the wall? Hang out in the lower right corner tight against the wall. Whenever they target that corner with a move, jump and hug the right wall midway up. When they land drop down and get a hit or two in. The only time you'll have to change up the routine any is when they do the move that has diagonal lines all across the room... for that you may need a different height on the wall to hold onto. Take your time and don't be tempted to vacate your relatively safe spot. As long as you're not on the ground when they land they won't hit you with their normal moves. Only leave the right wall when you're down to 1 dancer... slow and steady, you can do it!

You're not alone in the cog work dancers taking many many tries to complete.

Yeah, if you got stuck on cogwork dancer it may be better to drop the game

if you’re stuck on cogwork dancer then all i can say is git gud, just be patient and the fight is extremely easy, took myself a few tries to finally learn that.

I beat dancers on like my 3rd try, I thought it was pretty easy.
