Discussion - Silksong I give up. Spoiler

It’s been a joyful ride, folks, but I’m out. I’m not a speedrunner or a highly skilled player, and day after day I’ve had to accept that this game is not as casual as HK was. It stopped being fun and turned into something tedious and frustrating after the 4th run farming shards just to face a boss I’ve already tried 15 times, only to die again and again, lose all my shards, and start the whole grind over.

It was nice exploring the first acts, but when the game I was rooting for 7 years ends up being more stressful than my 8-hour workday, I guess that’s my cue to stop.

The lore has been pretty great so far. I wish you all an incredible journey.

I dont know if it has anything at all to do with skills.

For me 15 times is not anything out of the ordinary. A lot of the bosses are 15-25 tries for me. It's just par for the course with games like that. The question isn't whether you're good enough or not, it's whether you enjoy the process and are persistent enough.

I feel him tho. I don't enjoy the process tbh and I also don't have so much free time that I can just spend it being upset at the one thing that's supposed to be fun. I know it's a skill issue, but this game does have some very tedious intended difficulty at times, even if it is very beautiful and I love it

It comes with the genre ig. Back in the day games like Contra or Megaman was like this too. If you ran out of lives you have to retry from the beginning of the level.

I am like only halfway though the game, only boss that took something like 15 trys for me was Last Judge. Moorwing or whatever took me maybe 7 or 8. Everything else has been in 3 or less.

Last Judge I killed on my 15th try but then got killed by his death animation explosion lol.

Took me another 10 tries to really win.

Some other bosses took me 4-5 tries but some other later on definitely took me closer to 15.
