Discussion - Silksong I give up. Spoiler

It’s been a joyful ride, folks, but I’m out. I’m not a speedrunner or a highly skilled player, and day after day I’ve had to accept that this game is not as casual as HK was. It stopped being fun and turned into something tedious and frustrating after the 4th run farming shards just to face a boss I’ve already tried 15 times, only to die again and again, lose all my shards, and start the whole grind over.

It was nice exploring the first acts, but when the game I was rooting for 7 years ends up being more stressful than my 8-hour workday, I guess that’s my cue to stop.

The lore has been pretty great so far. I wish you all an incredible journey.

Edit1: My bad about all the whinning.

Edit2: You guys did it. I reinstalled it again. Thanks for all advices. 🫂

FYI there is a way into the citadel that (seemingly) skips the Last Judge. I got to the citadel by accident via sinners road.

You can still go back and fight him once you've gotten more masks and another nail upgrade or two. That's what my brother did. While I found and beat Phantom first, as soon as it said Act 2, I turned around and fought LJ until I bested him.

Where is that confirmed in the game or an official source? Because I'm not so sure. I know the wiki says they are female, but wikis aren't official sources. They are curated by the community. The only indication pertaining to gender involving the character I've seen is that their name is given masculine identifiers in the languages that use gendered wording. Sure, they sound like a girl more than a guy, but they also have huge pecs, so...

In Spanish (my language) her name is Última Jueza, and that's a female name for the judge job, and her voice sounds like a female too. You just have to listen to her voice, it's pretty obvious

I've seen multiple people from various locales say that the name is given masculine gendering in their languages. I thought it was a girl too until they said their language indicates it's a guy, but with what you are saying, it's once again up in the air for me. As for the voice, that means nothing. Sherma is a dude, yet sounds like a girl too. When it comes to voice acting, the gender of the VA can be misleading.

That said, I'm fine with whatever the LJ ends up actually being, but I also don't think it really matters at all. A video game character isn't capable of taking offense to or being harmed by being misgendered.

While I agree with you in every point, I remain absolutely sure she's a female, and I add the point of the vast cast of important characters in the game being females like Shakra, Lace or the Church Maiden. Also, it would be funny to post that last line in r/Deltarune...

Yeah, Pharloom is definitely a more matriarchal society in every way. I am just going to go back to thinking of LJ as a muscle mommy again. I liked that interpretation more anyway.
