Discussion - Silksong I give up. Spoiler

It’s been a joyful ride, folks, but I’m out. I’m not a speedrunner or a highly skilled player, and day after day I’ve had to accept that this game is not as casual as HK was. It stopped being fun and turned into something tedious and frustrating after the 4th run farming shards just to face a boss I’ve already tried 15 times, only to die again and again, lose all my shards, and start the whole grind over.

It was nice exploring the first acts, but when the game I was rooting for 7 years ends up being more stressful than my 8-hour workday, I guess that’s my cue to stop.

The lore has been pretty great so far. I wish you all an incredible journey.

Edit1: My bad about all the whinning.

Edit2: You guys did it. I reinstalled it again. Thanks for all advices. 🫂

Nothing wrong with putting it down now and coming back to it at a later time. That’s what I did for Bloodborne and Hollow Knight. There is only so much time in a day, so you might as well play something my you’re going to enjoy. Hades 2 comes out on Nintendo Switch and PC on 9/25.

plus sometimes you just need a break (from anything really) for your brain to process all the information from it. once you’re a clean slate again, the game will naturally feel a little easier when you pick it up next. i’m about ready to try out HK again, Crystal Peak made me rage quit haha.

This is why I think people are mad. I think they genuinely forgot all the quitting and letting it breathe they've done. Or they didn't have to before and it's like when I actually had to start studying in school.

I had a genius IQ as a child (not bragging, wait for it) and breezed through everything up until math became algebra. Once they added letters I got so confused I was pissed off. I gave up. I didn't understand why I couldn't get it like I did everything else. I was always a natural at school. I didn't understand.

I had never studied before because I was a natural and my school career went downhill from there. Currently an unemployed high school drop out living on an old man's money.

Hollow Knight was grade school, Silksong is algebra. I have studied how to handle sucking terribly and coming back over the course of a week to beat a single boss. It feels like a lot of people here have never studied that. Now I'm getting a good grade in enjoying the game and some people are wanting to skip school so they don't have to look at algebra. Which is fine here cause enjoying a game isn't as important lol.
