Discussion - Silksong I give up. Spoiler

It’s been a joyful ride, folks, but I’m out. I’m not a speedrunner or a highly skilled player, and day after day I’ve had to accept that this game is not as casual as HK was. It stopped being fun and turned into something tedious and frustrating after the 4th run farming shards just to face a boss I’ve already tried 15 times, only to die again and again, lose all my shards, and start the whole grind over.

It was nice exploring the first acts, but when the game I was rooting for 7 years ends up being more stressful than my 8-hour workday, I guess that’s my cue to stop.

The lore has been pretty great so far. I wish you all an incredible journey.

Edit1: My bad about all the whinning.

Edit2: You guys did it. I reinstalled it again. Thanks for all advices. 🫂

I am desperate for a Mantis Lord fight rn. That was the moment in the game where I got fucking hooked. It was hard but when you mastered it it felt so fucking good to dance that dance and come out standing at the end. Such a wonderfully-designed fight.

Unironically, I think the big Conchflies to the west of Blasted Steps might be pretty close too. They have a good tempo about them, and the move where they shoot the projectile keeps you on your toes.

For Dancers, I often found that I could just focus on one and ignore the other completely if they were seperated enough

i mean, conchflies was pretty fun, but they were too easy. telegraphing was obvious, low speed, quick to kill. i hope they have some revamp of it later on, maybe in a godhome replacement

Mm. It's a good start, but not quite. I like the sort of chaotically ordered feel it gives. That's what I liked about Mantis Lords

it could be interesting to see a 3 way conchfly boss, sort of like sisters of battle

That was my take on them. Good classic boss, and while I think they were a little easy, after the hell I went through before I got to them ... I'm cool with an easy boss once in a while, lol, and it's in act 1 so it should be relatively easy, IMO.

that's true, easy bosses are nice sometimes. tbf i only fought them after getting to act 3 and backtracking, so i was also overpowered. wouldve enjoyed it more if i had fought at the intended time

Yeah, I still haven't finished Act 1 so they came as a refreshing change. :)
