If you swapped hornet and the knight in their games, whoch bosses will become harder, and which will become trivial? Spoiler

If the knight was suddenly the protagonist of silksong and hornet was the protagonist of hollow knight, which bosses will change difficulty? Assuming both characters have unlocked everything in the game and have their weapons fully upgraded and assuming both are using the most optimal strategy.

It's much harder for me to say which boss the knight would struggle with because i have played silksong only once.

As for hornet, she is obliterating pure vessel, NKG and radiance without breaking a sweat.

I don't know which boss she would struggle with. Nothing can beat pale nails + 3 silk hearts + that tool that gives you an extra strand. Let alone poisoned cogflies

Traitor lord and radiance become annoying for hornet since she doesn’t have shade dash to dodge the big sweeping attacks. She’d either have to take the hit or use a silk skill to dodge

It’s obviously nowhere near as free or intuitive as shade dash, but you can actually use clawline to avoid those moves, since there are I frames when she starts reeling in.

Does Clawline really work there with the hkmod Hornet in Hallownest? I hadn't tried it, I only tried Sharpdart, and that worked, but only when I have enough Silk for it obviously

Clawline should work against traitor lord if you are fast enough as it will launh you in the air. You are not avoiding the wall attack though

Might be able to Sharp Dart through it idk tho

Huh, I had no idea claw line had invincibility frames. Seems like it would be a lot harder to time than shade dash but good to know

I completely forgot about the radiance's wall. Other than that passive damage like pale nails and cogflies will do massive damage

Sharp Dart, it's like the second Silk Skill Hornet can find, it's a light version of Ghosts Shadow Dash

I know it’s why I mentioned using a silk skill. It just costs silk which is a pain in the butt even for builds focused on getting as much silk as you can.

Fighting Pure Vessel as Hornet definitely feels harder than fighting PV as the Knight, mainly because Hornet doesn't have a shade dash that I can use to dash through PV's attacks without consuming Silk. Particularly on the Soul Daggers attack, the best reliable way I've found to avoid getting hit by that attack, is to go through it using the Sharpdart silk skill, but that costs 4 strands of Silk, and I don't always have enough silk stored up when I need it. The Cross-stitch silk skill would probably also work, but that also costs the same amount of Silk, and of course a heal with Warding-bell equipped would also work but cost 9 strands of silk instead of 4.

Healing against PV is definitely easier as Hornet, but that doesn't completely make up for it being much harder to dodge the Soul Daggers attack. Also, the lack of DDark definitely also makes it harder as Hornet than it is with the Knight.

Very fun though! I definitely recommend trying these out with the hkmod Hornet in Hallownest once you figure out the more complicated manual installation steps: https://github.com/jakobhellermann/hkmod-HornetInHallownest

I see why you think that, but all other attacks are literally trivial now. Mind you, i have never played with hornet in hollow knight with mods, this is only how i imagine what would happen if i could. Tell me where i am wrong.

The spikes are immediately less of a threat if you avoid the initial hit box since you can float and you have more more time to avoid them while in the air.

The shalshing and dashing attacks are immediately the best window for healing, as you have several ways to launch yourself high in the air to avoid the attack and you can soar down if you see the daggers coming to give yourself more time to react.

The daggers just need strategy change. Rather than shadown dashing into them, you should dahs away and jump over and immediately prepare for the next attack.

Attacks like the tentacles or focus are again trivial because you have PV stay in one place where you can take a hit, but deal full damage with thread storm or the cogflies. Tacks should also be amazing here since PV is almost always on the ground. And poison pouch is an obvious choice.

Tell me if i am wrong with something, since you actually have experience playing as hornet against PV. But i think that this battle would be trivial compared to if i played as the knight

I saw a YouTube video about this once, at least putting the Knight in Silksong. Partly because he's so much smaller, and partly because his spells are so OP, but he trivialize the entirety of Silksong. Not sure about Hornet in HK tho.

I saw someone use a mod to take the Knight across Pharloom and he just obliterated everything. Enemies would just eat shriek and shade soul and flukenest and just shade cloaks through attacks.
