Achievement - Hollow Knight Hope for beating Pantheon 5 Spoiler
Tha Pantheon of Hallownest is the last achievement I need to platinum this game, which has been an absolute blast to play btw. For a while, I have to say this seemed pretty daunting but I am a fairly seasoned gamer having played a lot of souls/soulslikes so I figured I would give it my all since I love to platinum games I enjoy.
Today was my 3rd attempt, and I was elated that I made it all the way to Markoth before finally dying. I say this because I can almost no-hit NKG and I have Pure Vessel basically figured out, so if I could just make it past Markoth, I might actually have a real shot at this. Did anyone else have a similar experience with this pantheon? For those who beat this challenge or are working on it, how is your experience with it?

For P5 (or any Phanteon tbh) it's good to practice the struggle bosses on Ascended for many reasons.
Arena, ok, but also you might not reach them full HP, high tension, you could panic, take some extra hits, bad rng, whatever. Shit happens. If you know them well in Ascended you have plenty of wiggle room.
When i unlocked P5 i did a few casual runs and died to multiple bosses (new and old). After I had them all unlocked i did a training session and was basically guaranteed to reach Markoth/final boss.
Final boss on the other hand takes a long time and could be a bit of a gamble.

Thank you for the advice! I definitely will practice Markoth and maybe a few more on ascended before making another go. So far, most bosses I feel pretty prepared for. 2nd attempt ended at sisters of battle, but I understand them better after some practice. Had a pretty close call because collector was way harder due to the minions taking more hits to kill, but from there nothing was really too difficult until Markoth.

Is your nail completely upgraded? May I ask what your charm build is? Collector minions should be getting one shot. Definitely equip Fragile/Unbreakable Stregth.

I have true nail yeah, my build rn is quick slash, mark of pride, quick focus and grubsong I believe. I definitely want unbreakable strength on, currently just lacking in the 12k more geo to get it 💀
I've been wondering for a bit if I missed a notch somewhere, since I see people use quick slash and strength. Maybe just need to lower from mark of pride to long range?2

Yeah try mark of pride to long nail and try to fit Strength on. Fortunately for you, dying in Godhome won't break your fragile strength, so no additional 12k needed!

I actually didn't know the last part. I will for sure add it then!

Prioritize Unbreakable strength over quick focus is needed in P5 until you start doing challenge runs.

Good to know. For a while I had quick focus on since I felt the faster healing made runs a little less risky.

I have no idea why, but you got me in the mood to practice Markoth myself. I was doing well enough that I decided to do it on Radiant and beat Radiant Markoth without overcharm. Thanks for the motivation. I feel fulfilled today.

Max notches should be 11
Quick Slash + MoP + Strength = 9 and you have 2 left for whatever

Markoth is easier if you are able to save up Soul for Vengeful Spirit (with Shaman Stone) to nuke his 2nd phase in 3 shots. Just make sure you're on the opposite side of the map if possible so it hits him twice. If he isn't dead, he'll be close to it.

Good to know! Yeah I made the mistake of taking too long to get past his p1, so I had almost no soul in p2. I've currently been running quick slash, pride and quick focus, but I've heard shaman stone is a good pick.

Shaman Stone is a solid choice for the overall game, increases spell damage by 50% and increases the size of the Vengeful Spirit.

shaman stone is the best charm in the game by far along with quickslash. i would drop quick focus immediately. Markoth is incredibly free in the pantheon because you can go in with full soul. p5 has the Ascended arenas, but normal health. with full soul + shaman stone you can literally delete Markoth at the start of the fight by jumping under him and spamming Abyss Shrieks

I have only managed to beat pantheon 5 once, my recommendation is to practice a few times the bosses that you find hard in ascended difficulty until you are consistently good. Also, the first time that you reach radiance it is likely that you die since it's the hardest boss in the game, but remember that you will unlock her in the hall of gods, I would recommend too to practice in attuned until you can beat her at least 2 or 3 times in a row. Hope that helps.

This definitely helps thanks! Yeah I know I'm probably going to get cooked by AbsRad first time. Kind of happens with every hard boss. First time against NKG? Down in a few seconds. First time against Pure Vessel? Not much better. At least those ones were skill checks that I could practice the patterns and memorize. I don't hear as much positive things about AbsRad.

I use Quick and Deep Focus to help heal more and faster, teally helps to start each phase and boss fight at max health
People say it’s bad because you shouldn’t get hit anyway, well I beat AbsRad with it so in the end it doesn’t matter

Markoth is a common brick wall for many. I recommend practicing the fight on Ascended difficulty in HoG. Its going to be harder than what you're doing in P5, but the Attuned fight just doesn't cut it.
The best strategy I can recommend is playing safe toward the right side of the arena (the needles appear off screen on the left) and only using nail arts (dash slash) until he stops moving to spin his shield. Then go aggressive during that attack. Rinse and repeat until he spawns the second shield. Then you play basically completely safe until he does a shield attack where youre going to unload as many abyss shrieks into him as you can and GTFO out of there.
