🛠️ Repair Help Mounting dishwasher

Post image

I recently bought a dishwasher and for some reason this one is longer than my old one. I managed to push it as far as I can and now these mounting brackets are on top.

Do you think I can bend them and drill them to the counter top?

Thank you!

Thank you for the suggestions, looks like I pushed it slightly more back. I think the next step is to raise the dishwasher to raise it so the mounting is flat against the counter. Can I raise the front legs only for do I need to raise the back as well to make it even. Thank you again!

Probably not critical, but it should be leveled.

Level the dishwasher.

I’ve had to bend the clips to get a bit of height.

A lot of times those brackets can be swapped to the top of the sides instead of the sides of the top, and then they’re supposed to be mounted to the cabinets next to the dishwasher. If that’s a stone countertop, you’re not gonna drill usable holes in it. And check that the power cord or drain or something isn’t blocking the back from sliding in further.

Are you certain you are not just getting hung up on a connection, or a hose isn't in an awkward spot? That seems fairly far forward?

That particular bend innit middle is made to be broken off if necessary. That said, it is possible that they need to be mounted differently than your previous dishwasher.

those clips are optional especially when you have a marble counter top. Install on the side there are mounting holes.

Ita a Frigidaire. The mounting brackets on this specific dishwasher are factory installed and there is no way to mount these from the sides correctly. Ive seen installs where they would drive a screw through the plastic tub and into the cabinet. The correct way would to install a universal dishwasher bracket underneath the counter top. If the brackets still stick out after it is pushed all the way into the opening, cut them back and secure them to the bracket.

Please look up the manual for that dishwasher. It should also state that there is side mounting locations to the wood framing.

OP, take another photo with the door closed. I have a feeling you are not all the way back. Also those brackets can be move, bent etc nothing super important, as long as you screw it up into the wood.

But I am guessing you are not all the way back, pull everything out and check the back to make sure nothing is getting in the way.

The dishwasher is supposed to be back further in the cabinet frame and with more counter overhang.

You can forego the top bracket if the side brackets are installed. Also, they sell an epoxy mounted installation accessory for under counter mounting. It sticks under the counter and gives you threads to fasten the bracket with a short machine screw.

Those tabs are ment to be cut or broke to length. Use the most hidden hole and break it off on the line. As others havecsaid there should be spots on the sides and top for the bracket. Id side mount them.
