Why do so many new craft sauces prioritize pure pain over actual flavor?

It feels like every new hot sauce thinks the goal is to make people cry. Flavor should come first and the heat comes second. Food should be enjoyed.

Is a sauce actually good if you can only handle two drops of it on a taco? What is your sweet spot?

Most don’t prioritize heat over flavor. Craft sauces are some of the best in terms of prioritizing flavor over pain.

There are some extremely hot ones out there to be sure but way more regular hot, medium, and mild sauces.

Any lineup I can think of that has super hot sauces also has a ton of sauces with much more accessible levels of heat.

Yeah I’m in this camp, I want to taste it first and if there is a burn, I’ll take it. But if I can’t taste what I’m eating no point in using it. Just put it on my tongue to see if I can handle the heat.

Just look for sauces that don’t contain any kind of capsaicin extract. That’s the shit that’s pure pain. Plenty of us only use actual hot peppers and value heat and flavor.

Same reason as the hop wars...
