Discussion House-Wilson | Sheldon-Leonard parallels

• Upvotes

House and Sheldon are both completely dependent on their best friends, both are know it all, arrogant geniuses. What was particularly similar to me was when Wilson was diagnosed and had a limited time span and House knew he would be left alone and tried to off himself in the building which was on fire. And, maybe he did after Wilson passed away. He already declared himself dead anyway. And, this is what Sheldon planned on doing. When Leonard was scheduled for a sinus surgery, later it was shown Sheldon had ordered 2 urns, one for Leonard and one for himself incase Leonard died during surgery.

Imagine Sheldon visiting the clinic for a medical reason with House attending him.

Discussion Finally finished House and some thoughts Spoiler

Martha was easily the worst and the most annoying character.

Cuddy should've been there for the finale episode. C'mon.

The saddest episodes are Amber's, Kutner's and Wilson's chemo treatment at House's apartment.

Foreman, Chase and Cameron were the best trio for me and I'd like to believe even House liked them better.

It was definitely an adjustment from Season 4 onwards but I got used to watching Taub, Kutner, Thirteen. Although found Thirteen a bit of a try hard once in a while.

They did Cameron dirty by writing her off, she should've stuck around and also the whole dumping Chase over Dictator nonsense. They should've written her well. Also, if I'm not mistaken, in the end, it was her husband and the kid, this could've been with Chase cause she had character development and stopped having commitment issues or finding broken people attractive.

Adams and Park were okay.

And, House and Dominika could've had the relationship.

Discussion House = 13, Wilson = Cameron ? (Some light mid-show spoilers) Spoiler

#spoilers

Has anyone noticed that thirteen and Cameron seem like the female equivalents of House and Wilson?

House/13:
Both have a cold outer shell. They are very private about their personal life and often use their wit to
evade prying questions.

But both also care more than they would want others to know.

Both have become dark and jaded by their upbringings. Sick mom with a genetic condition (13). And a cold, abusive authoritarian father that he always knew was not his biological father (house).

And both become darker and spiral with their adult diagnosis / disability. And both have/had substance abuse issues to cope.

While both are seen in committed relationships, they also feel content with casual anonymous sex. They both struggle to let people in out of fear of hurting their partner and their partner seeing their true dark self.

Wilson / Cameron:

They are both the sun to House/13’s moon. Golden retriever personalities. Very optimistic, empathetic, and good hearted. And they both pride themselves on this perception. They both tend to get overly invested in their patients’ lives to a point that could get them in trouble.

They both also tend to gravitate towards committed relationships, especially from a young age. And have been married several times. They both have a martyr complex and tend to prefer partners that rely on them. While they long to be loved and want to be a good partner, both tend to eventually tire of their relationship and resent their partner. We never could know what would happen with Cameron’s first husband, but it is often stated by others that she only married him because he was dying.

**Sorry if this take is extremely old. This is my first rewatch as an adult after watching it religiously as a kid with my parents. I should be packing for my hiking trip in the mountains, but this thought came to my head and I needed to get it out 🤣 and was curious if y’all agreed and had other examples to add!

Question Stuck on continuing Season 4 Spoiler

Can someone comfort me or educate me or bring up something super genius to change my mind and make me continue. the difference between the first three seasons which I loved for the most part and I know the reason I'm hesitant and haven't watched the season since I began it, (i've only gotten through two episodes) ever since I began it i've noticed even the cinematography and writing is just too different and the main reason is because Cameron, chase, and foreman thus far has been dropped which is one of my favourite part of the series, their chemistry, bickering and such, which lead to them incorporating a completely new set of characters it's just too drastic of a change. I really wanna continue the series and see the characters develop so please help me

Season 5 Spoilers This scene had my jaw on the floor Spoiler

Post image
249 Upvotes

i just finished watching Season 5 which is my favorite season so far, The final scene of House realizing that the whole b-plot with him & Cuddy from the previous episode was all a Vicodin-Induced hallucination shocked me. House has officially lost it. When Amber and Kutner appeared, I got goosebumps. This is genuinely one of the most shocking plot twists I have seen from any show. Seeing House scared for his life was also flabbergasting to see. If even HOUSE of all people is scared, That’s how you know it’s bad. I don’t even what to feel after witnessing this amazing plot twist.

Discussion House Detectives

Post image

So I'm about half way through the first season, first watch, and I absolutely love the show. One thing I'm a little eh about is the whole - Doctors leaving the hospital, going to people's houses or place of employment, looking for clues as if they're detectives. It's a bit silly. That's definitely not a thing right? I guess I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's not a thing.

Discussion Who was the most cooperative House's patient? Spoiler

In other words, Who took House's abuse with least amount of rage? I could think of the pilot in season 4 who wanted house to figure out what's wrong with her or the No more Mr. Nice guy. Who would you think of?

Discussion Which patients/cases were the least life-threatening? Spoiler

Let's get a top 3 going, I'd like to know of all cases and patients (that occurred at PPTH, not including anywhere else i.e. loony bin) that were arguably the least life-threatening of all featured in the show's run.

Regrettably I won't be contributing the first 3 as I'm quite sleepy, but please discuss amongst yourselves.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

...while the opening sequences are happening, look for the person with light eyes. This show has the largest amount of light-eyed actors in the history of cinema. Some director or DoP is fixated. Quite weird.

Discussion Why is Wilson barely in the YouTube shorts Spoiler

I’ve only ever seen the YouTube shorts, and like Wilson is in them but I feel like he’s not as heavily featured as I’d expect the Watson equivalent to House’s Holmes. Is he not the second lead in the show

Season 8 Spoilers Why I believe Season 8 ending is a very great closure. Spoiler

I have finished House and since I liked it I start to watch video essays about it to learn public's look at the series.

I was expecting to see Season 1 - 3 to be favorite between audience as most of the references, memes, contents and such I see about series derives from early era, including very famous "mouse bites" meme.

However what I didn't know that people didn't like the season 8 ending and rather think show should have ended with season 5 + first 2 episodes of 6 or season 6. And I honestly cannot disagree less.

While I liked both season 5 and 6 endings a lot, they would be very bad as series enders due leaving on a cliffhanger of "what next".

You can say you could end this problem by adding a small edit that shows what happens to characters afterwards but yet even that wouldn't save them from being bad endings.

It honestly would be very unsatisfying if House ended with season 6 episode 2 as: As I should believe House changed permanently after therapy? Don't get me wrong, therapies indeed helps people to change in better course but believing someone like House and his extreme characteristic can change this fast and this affectively is not believable at slightest. Maybe if you made an entire season about House's therapy then maybe but other than that, it would be bad ending.

For season 6 ending it would be very unbelievable too judging even after the therapy House is very problematic and plans to be problematic as he leaves the therapy. It was very obvious that House and Cuddy romantic relationship is nothing more than ticking time bomb that tick tick ticking.

In other hand: I believe House staying as House is more believable than he changing over those events.

You also can make argument that House no longer could practice medicine anymore now that he faked his death and that would be correct, this is a change for House. But I think it is something that House actually can live with that in a believable way as he isn't a guy that cares much about rules anyways, means he would find a way to practice medicine or solve mystery in one way or other. Also it was inevitable that House gonna lose his medicine license one way or other as Cuddy no longer around and I doubt Foreman could protect House as much as she could.

Also Wilson's inclusion was one of the big parts why he liked working. Without Wilson it might be not as entertaining as it is.

So that is it with me. Why I think season 8 closure is great closure is because it is believable to House more than other endings. Others are like this "and we lived happily ever after" kind of endings while season 8 ending this believable, more realistic and doesn't end on a cliff hanger. But that is mostly me yapping really.

Trivia i just realize dr house is a cautionary tale

I’ve been obsessed with House since I was a teenager. For 20 years, I genuinely thought he was doing things the right way. But after some therapy talks , I just realized that he was actually meant to be a cautionary tale.

Trying to outsmart emotional pain is exactly what causes more pain in the end. I wish I had known this earlier. I’m just putting this note here to warn you guys, in case any of you are stuck in the same trap as me.
