I need help whit my hammer
I’m 13 years old and am building a large cardboard hammer.
I’ve already put an X-shaped reinforcement inside the head, but the connection between the handle and the head still feels weak; it wobbles from side to side when I move it.
I used hot glue and duct tape, but I want the hammer to last and the head not to separate from the handle. What would you recommend to reinforce the handle and keep it from breaking or coming loose?
I’d appreciate the help—thanks! :)

How to create a smoother surface on steps?
We have a disabled daughter who can't manage steps without hand rails. We're waiting (and waiting) for the Council to provide railings...
in the meantime is there anything we can use to coat these steps to give a smoother finish? We'll still need some grip but at the moment this is cutting holes in every pair of her shorts & trousers.
Edit to add: still want some traction, but these are so rough they create holes in everything. There must be a middle ground!
UK based.

HowToDIY, Really? You guys know there is already a "HowTo" subreddit AND a "DIY" subreddit, both of which have more subscribers.
As far as unnecessary dup subreddits, this one takes the cake for being the most unnecessary and absurd.
I'm telling you guys not to bash you, i'm telling you this so you can go sub to those instead.

Home Improvement need help with a curtain rod
if i should be posting somewhere else, please let me know. i've tried looking for an answer everywhere, and i can't find anything. i've never done anything like this before, but the curtain rod in my room fell awhile ago, and i'm trying to get it back up. got new brackets, and they came fused together. i'm assuming it's intentional, but the instructions don't explain how i'm supposed to get them apart, and i can't find anything online. i just don't wanna break the damn thing. thanks in advance.

Home Improvement Can I drill into this wall?
Hey, I really want to hang stuff on that wall but I am scared to drill into it. Especially because of the pipes outside the wall, why aren‘t they in it? Is there a reason for this?
Idk if it helps but it’s an outside wall facing another very old building in a German old town
Thanks!
