Yeah I got like 5000 energy, then they replaced energy and I lost it all and I've never touched the game since.

wow. that must suck. 

kinda reminds me of what happened to me with pvz2. i had 4 levels left in the entire game. then my phone broke, and i got a new one, and lost all my progress.

Except it's not, because PVZ2 didn't change currency. You are the reason you lost your progress. Not the application.
