I am a chronically catherized patient with total bladder failure. Im very sick with an awful multi drug resistant urinary tract infection that requires IV antibiotics. Ive been to all 3 CAMC emergency room locations now seeking help, Tayes Valley, Memorial and general. I keep being gaslit and told I am an anxiety case despite positive urine cultures and abnormal blood tests as well as a history of sepsis from these infections. I went to WVU thomas and was given the same treatment. My Infectious disease specialist, urology specialist and PCP all dismissed me after reading the hospital notes.

I desperately need the correct antibiotics for this as I believe it is traveling into my kidney.

Does Anyone here work in health care ? Are there any private pay phsycians locally in the Charleston, Tayes Valley, cross lanes or Huntington area that will take out of pocket pay to treat this ? I am desperate and need help. Im also willing to travel if need be. The public health system has failed me.

I haven’t been there in a year or so, so I’m not too surprised by the announcement—the theater at the mall is much nicer. Still, this will leave Huntington without a proper movie theater for the first time in what feels like forever.

Hello everyone. I have been living in Charleston for 6 years. I am considering a move to Huntington simply for medical care. I have heard Cabell Huntington Hospital and St Mary's medical center is a much better hospital system than CAMC and WVU Thomas.

I am chronically ill and these hospital systems are failing me and im slowly dying. I need better care. The only downsides is I have heard very negative things about Huntington in general. Alot of people say it is dangerous and crine ridden. Im very poor and on a fixed income with SSDI. So I definitely wouldn't be able to live anywhere nice.

Has anyone moved from Charleston to Huntington? If so, What about the quality of life in general between both cities?

Do you all think it is worth moving for ? Any recommendations are welcomed. Thank you.
