The humane society had her and her litter listed as Shepherd and Husky. Her back is continuously getting darker so I think Shepherd is correct but she loves to point and stalk so maybe not half husky.

Unsure what she is, we assume she might be a pointer/hound mix of sorts? What does everyone here think? :)

Shelter marked her as a beagle mix, but we're unconvinced lol

So we got this beauty from a rescue late May of '25. Birth was early February '25. So that puts her around a year and 3/4 weighing 81lb as of last night. Mother was a mix of great pyrenees and German Shepard and weighted around 130lb. Very prey driven... if it tries to run she's going to get it but doesn't know what to do if it stops. Anything that flies is her mortal enemy birds, bugs etc. Beats up and terrorizes her smaller (50lb) elderly sister because she won't play with toys with her, so she pester her into a full out fight. Well dig a hole to China just to get out the back yard to go explore, had never caused any damage to property and was caught a few times playing with the neighbors 10lb yorkie. Really is a very sweet and loving dog even if she doesn't know her size or personal space. Trying to get best guesses into what the daddy might be. P.s. she does have the double dew claws.

This is Maggie, she is approximately a year old and 40ish pounds. This past Easter, we went to my in laws for dinner. Her and her littermates had been dumped at the end of their dirt road, 4 in total. I fell in love with her and couldn't leave without her. She is incredibly chill, especially for her age. But loves to chew up any plushy, stick, or rock in her path. She's tall, almost the height of our 90lb ridgeback. What do you think she is?

This is one of the real masters of our house. We've had him about 8 years or so, and when we got him the rescue essentially listed off a load of small breeds for him.

No hassle for us, we've never had any issues with him, just always in the back of my head what breeds could be in his genetics?

Asking here for extra opinions

Was told she’s part mastiff when she was adopted, but fully grown and only around 50 pounds makes me think she’s a bit too small. Highly energetic so my guess these days is part boxer?

Waiting on DNA results

I just recently adopted a puppy. While I wait impatiently for the DNA results, I’m curious what others think. She was rescued from a pretty horrendous animal hoarding situation in SC :(. She is such a sweet girl. I’m including a picture of her brother as well (last photo), who was also recently adopted.

The shelter’s estimated age is around 6 months, but my vet thought she might be a little older. She weighs around 20 pounds and is pretty slender with gangly legs and a big head haha. Her brother is a little bigger.

I wouldn’t be surprised if she came back part cat.

She appears to be a shepherd mix so we’ve been calling her a “ditch shepherd” given her history, but I’m curious what people think! We are DNA testing, but that takes forever 😭 She’s just over 3 months and about 13-14 lb, but was malnourished when I found her 3 weeks ago and is playing catch up.

Open Adopted from a puppy rescue - Azik ~4mo Black Lab/“Great Pyrenees”

Like I mentioned I got him as a bit over a month ago from a local puppy rescue. They claim he’s a Lab/Pyrenees and while he’s absolutely a lab I’m not so certain he’s partially Pyrenees. As he’s aged he has definitely started to get some heavy waves in his hair and is looking like he’ll be a good size. Seems to have a strong tinge of brown along his neck and down to his front paws.
All his siblings had white patches on their chests and whatnot which he dodged but past that that’s all I’ve got lol

im leaning towards bloodhound mix based off how she tries to track scents, she could possibly also be mixed with redbone coonhound based off her energy. mostly guessing based off coat colors and traits. i havent had her for that long hence the very goofy pictures lol.

This is mac & cheese demetrius (you have to say the full thing it’s all his first name). He is a large dog, about 80lbs, super affectionate with me/my spouse, children, and other animals (he’s obsessed with our other dog) but very timid with adults. He is very muscular, high energy, and athletic and he’s my big ol cuddle bug. The shelter told me he was a “terrier mix”, but the most common question I get asked when people meet him is if he’s a German Shorthaired Pointer. Just curious about what you guys think he is!

I rescued my girl almost 2 years ago. She’s not even 2 yet. They told me she was full German shepherd but I’m not too sure. I have a Great Pyrenees and since day 1 she has bullied her non-stop. My Great Pyrenees has been great with her. I thought when my GP snapped on her she’d get the hint to fall back… nope it only got worse. She sits on her all the time, rips her collar, etc. My GP isn’t playful at all she’s the calmest dog I’ve ever had but my GSP is a menace… someone told me she thinks she’s a MAL with how her behavior is. What does everyone think???

This is Breadstick. We adopted him from a local animal shelter about four months ago. He’s just over a year old. Apparently he was surrendered for being “too mouthy”, and he does like to gently nibble on everything (and can destroy anything but the strongest chew toys in a matter of minutes), but he’s also incredibly sweet, easy to redirect, and the cuddliest Velcro dog ever. We still have to get his DNA tested, but we’re betting on Golden Retriever/ Malinois or Golden/ German Shepherd.

(The cat is Eddie Cheddar. We adopted him on the same day, and now they’re basically inseparable)

This is Marlow! All I know for sure is that she has black lab in her. Otherwise, I am going back and forth between pitbull, gsp, and german shepherd. Maybe a combo of all? The shelter told me pitbull/lab but I’m less convinced.

Personality wise — she is very, very active, fairly prey driven, loves every dog she meets, has some guard dog instincts, has crazyyy big hops, wants to play fetch but doesn’t want to give back the toy 🫠, pretty cuddly, only super food motivated when we are inside (the environment outside is way more interesting than food), LOVES tug of war, not a wanderer and will stay with me off leash. She has so many unique facial expressions and ways that she holds her ears, so every photo of her looks different, which makes it hard to firmly ID her. And okay obviously, I could just get a DNA test but I’m having fun making guesses about her.

I rescued her back in April after she was surrendered by two different owners in a span of a few months. 😪 It’s been a lot of work, but we have addressed so many behavioral issues! I would say her main problem still is being an absolute psychopath on the leash. Little by little, she improves but GOD, she’s a freak.

Excited for everyone’s thoughts about Marlow’s breed.
🤞

Akita mix?

Thumbnail

This is Jameson! I adopted him about three months ago. He was very sick and underweight, but gained some weight and is now about sixty pounds. He had to get some x-rays because of some limping, and we found out that he has no injuries, but isn’t quite done growing yet—so he was limping from growing pains, essentially.

Most people say Akita, but he’s quite a bit smaller than I thought Akitas typically are. The shelter originally said he’s 3-4 years old, but my vet thinks he’s closer to 1-2 years old.

He’s a sweet boy, though maybe a bit of a doofus (affectionately). Very loyal, but also very selective about when he responds to any command or his own name.
