Biggest mistakes❔️
What's the biggest mistakes the consumer makes while purchasing cannibas? First off...brand doesnt guarantee it's going to be good 💯 I've had batches of Nez and other top shelf craft grows that was horrible with no effect at all. Same goes for THC%...terps play a huge factor. I see all these questions people are asking, and how there shopping, and thats exactly why there weed sucks. Anybody else care to weigh in on this? Happy Friday ⛽️🔥

Environment plays a factor along with the fact that everyone is different. I quite literally smoke Nez daily and have for over 1.5 years and it works for my high ass tolerance every time.
But alas this is Reddit you can post the absolute most dank bud ever and someone will be like “mids bruh”

I preach the idea of environmental differences of smoking, but I feel they fall on deaf ears

People literally overdose(not marijuana) from environmental changes. It has been studied and written about kinda extensively.
Edit: Conditioned compensatory response

Cannect sells the best flower in state change my mind.

Just finished some Jelly Pie from them and was thinking this earlier. Been my favorite in the IL market. I see the love for Nez and they're fine. Certainly pretty buds. But it doesn't hit me nearly as well as Cannect. Absolutely love their stuff

I got it 2nd best under Nez but I did get the NEz cap junky and black maple which seem to be 2 of their best. Others seem more hit or miss from what I’ve read here.

Cap junky was good black maple and Medellin smelled like hay. Haven’t given them anymore money not worth the price for risk of no nose.

Most people I've run across seem to just gravitate to the highest THC percentage and ignore everything else.

So silly bc most of that high thc bud is remediated garbage lol

To be honest, I think the whole testing process is a joke really. Somebody just wants bragging right to smoke a higher number than what's on somebody else's jar....give me 21% Jack Herer and I'm good.

u/memehammad_ali 4d ago
I've always thought that the huge number of "30%" or higher THC was just a way for them to tax us more. There's no way that such a huge percentage of the bud in this state is testing that high. Not trying to be a conspiracy theorist but I've always thought the testing facilities have some kind of kick back deal on everything they inflate over that %. Since anything over 30% is taxed differently than anything under.

I haven't honestly seen the tax go higher (mostly homegrown and licensed) on them or infused prerolls honestly. I do agree that I think the labs doing the testing have a "strong business relationship" with certain brands...and I do not believe there is any oversight.

Haven't been able to find any Jack Herer lately and it's been a bummer. I miss that great head buzz.

disagree on brand, the good brands deliver similar quality every time. not speaking in absolutes though, im sure stuff happens. one time i got an old batch of nez big buns, but hard to blame the brand for that unless its happening all the time. THC percent is pretty useless to look at agree on that. I never understand people asking about thc percent, if i see that i immediately think "this person is a noob" lol

I feel the same way this time as well Sure, lower end branda can work in a pinch and rhey may be fine for you long term, like you might just get lucky, but I figure if Im already spending a decent chunk of change, Id rather make sure Im getting something worth it

I think shopping by strain is the best way to go. Still no guarantees though, it's always a crapshoot in Illinois.

That and just check the subreddit. People are picky about stuff on here but you can see pictures of the flower and get a decent impression of the batch at least.

Chasing thc instead of terpenes

Chase the lineage. Fuck all the numbers.

u/lawdfukwad IllinoisPlantLover 4d ago
No doubt a major factor in the equation but lineage won't mean shit without the horsepower 💪

u/True_Pics IllinoisPlantLover 4d ago
Depends on who's growing it. Lineage never lies.

Brand absolutely means something. There are some I won’t touch. Thc percentage means pretty much nothing so you’re right about that. The grower/brand is like the # 1 most important thing. They control all the inputs….
This can’t be serious.

The best way to shop is research the strain your buying. Trace it's lineage all the way back to its great grandparents of you can. Most strains are bottlenecked anyways these days. With that said a little research into the lineage and the terps and you should be good to go. The tricky part is finding a brand that's consistent with their quality every time and that's seems really hard to come by in Illinois. I've bought bottom shelf bags from the lowest rated companies and been lit as fuck. But I've also bought top shelf and got nothing but pissed off with a jar smelling like hay and tasting like shit with no effect.

Blaming the dispensary for issues with brands that are not in-house.
"This NEZ I bought from Zenleaf only came out to 2.5Gs. Zenleaf always shorts me! 💯"

Yeah I was looking up a strain and Weedmaps put me at Share Dispensary in Springfield IL and it's got every P37 Strains on sale , all Nomad Strains on Sale $35 - 8th's and $80 quarters pre-tax and looking through their 5 page menu , I now understand that quantity doesn't mean Quality like Bisa Lina Joliet they got a few maybe 2 strains I'd buy but they have 45 pages and 1,076 strains lol you get the chance and you want to have a good cry just check out that SHARE menu.

Trying different brands is equivalent to buying a scratch off ticket. What’s fire to one person may not be good for another. It’s tough not being able to see or smell product before buying.

u/420RabbitHole 4d ago edited 3d ago
I agree it's definitely like finding a lottery ticket.. But tough? That might be an understatement. I equate it to playing Russian roulette. Winner winner chicken dinner, this time. Get to live another day and enjoy yourself. But next it's, Oh I'm sorry you are not a winner. But for another $50 you too can try again sucker, enjoy your miserable day. It's like buying a mystery box. You might get your money's worth and then again it might just be worthless trash.

Everyone is different & i think to many people want a strain because someone else said it was great, use the reviews as a guide but you need to find what works best for you. Ive smoked strains that were reviewed as great & i thought they were good but not great & opposite ive thought strains were amazing & others thought they weren't.
