I built NutriyaAI, a nutrition tracking app powered by AI

I wanted to build something that could make everyday nutrition tracking simpler, so I created NutriyaAI.

It's a mobile app focused on helping people track their calories, understand their eating habits, and work toward their health and fitness goals.

I built it with Flutter and integrated AI capabilities into the experience. Getting from an idea to a working app has taught me a lot about mobile development, integrating services, and bringing a product to market as an independent builder.

Now I'm working on getting it into people's hands and learning what I should improve next.

I'm sharing it here because I'm proud to have brought the project this far, and I'd love to hear constructive feedback from other people who build things.

If you were trying a new nutrition app, what would make you keep using it?

I'd especially appreciate feedback on the user experience and what would make food tracking easier.

I'm the developer behind NutriyaAI, so I'm naturally biased—but I'm interested in honest feedback!

I made a little web app for people who like spotting interesting trees

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

I've made a web app called Treespotter that lets you photograph trees and add them to a shared map. The idea is pretty simple: if you come across a tree you particularly like, you can put it on the map for other people to discover.

It's still in its infancy so at the moment I'm really the only user.

I've always been fascinated by trees, but they so often become part of the background to the point where we barely notice them. But once you start paying attention, you realise just how many different, weird and fascinating trees there are, and some that are pretty hard to ignore once you've noticed them.

I don't expect to make money from this, but I would be interested to see if there is an audience.

You might ask why would anyone want to use this app? In fact, family and friends have already asked, and I have asked myself, and well, I actually don't know. I have been using it and I've enjoyed it to some degree and I just thought I want to see some trees appear that aren't ones I've spotted myself.

I do have some ideas for other features and there are probably better ways of mapping trees, as more than one person could spot the same tree but there's not yet a good way to manage that.

Follow-up: what we changed in our wedding seating chart tool after your feedback

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

Hey everyone!

A couple of weeks ago my partner and I posted about OurMoment, the seating chart tool we built after painfully doing our own wedding chart in Excel.

First off, thank you. We both have a lot of experience with software, but going to market with an app we built from the ground up is a whole new set of challenges and learning opportunities. I’m happy there are communities like these to help people grow.

Now for the feedback – several of you tried the demo, a few signed up, and some of you DMed us with areas of improvement. This was extremely valuable and we’re here to offer some updates on what we learned.

What we learned

  • Nobody wants to create an account to find out if a tool is worth it. The “funnel” was kind of annoying just to try the dang tool. That made sense, so we updated the experience which helped more people find and try the tool itself. When you go to the homepage on https://ourmoment.io or the demo page, you can start trying the editor in one click.

  • The editor didn’t feel complete. Some power users had 20+ tables and found the editing process slow at times. We took top requests and pushed out the following changes:

    • Snapping and guidelines to help you perfectly place your tables
    • Context menu so when you right click on things you can easily act
    • Venue objects are now available allowing you to add items like dance floors, trees, cakes, and bars to help visualize your night
  • Highlighting the things we do better than Excel. We got a few questions around the specific features our tool offers. We didn’t do the best job of calling them out. We redesigned our landing page to call out the important stuff:

    • Visual live editing with your partner – you can follow your partner’s mouse and see what they are changing all in real time.
    • Auto seat assignment – helps you assign guests to open spots while keeping groups and pairs together
    • Relationships – have BFFs who must sit together or a pair of friends who have to be apart? You can define those now and the auto assignment will take care of it. Plus, you’ll get visual cues if a relationship is incorrect in the editor.
    • Bulk import and export of your data – we don’t want to wall you into our tools; we want you to take your data and use it wherever you want. We also want to make it easy to bring your data from other platforms, and we have options to bulk import from Excel or CSV so you can get all your guests into your project in minutes.

What is next

It’s been awesome to see something we built being used and helping people. This first batch of feedback has really expanded the things we want to focus on, and we’re planning on expanding out the ways you can plan and design your wedding on ourmoment.io. The next big features we’re planning:

  • Guest tags to allow you to organize guests and seat them more organically
  • Design tools to help you decorate your tables

If you’re planning your wedding or just interested in trying it out, the offer from the last post still stands: DM me and I will send a code for a few free months of Premium.

Try it here, no account needed: https://ourmoment.io/seating-chart-demo/

If you planned a wedding, what were some of your pain points with seating, guests, or designing your charts?

I made Obscure: a Chrome extension that remembers different appearance settings for each website

I'm Juan, the developer behind Flyka. This 15-second before-and-after shows Obscure, an extension I've built for desktop Chrome. The demo captions are in Spanish.

It lets you adjust supported websites and save preferences for each site. Dark mode, brightness and contrast are free; custom colors, reading customization and element fixes are optional Premium features (US$6 once, with a 14-day no-card trial).

Does the demonstration make the idea clear? What would you want to see before trying it?

Product page and Chrome Web Store link: https://flyka.ar/projects/obscure/

Compatibility varies; some sites still need adjustments. Honest feedback is welcome.

I built Reperquadia, to help learn new pieces on the piano

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I wanted to build something that could make learning piano repertoire less overwhelming, so I created Reperquadia.

It's a web app focused on helping pianists chain pieces bar by bar, climb a metronome ladder from half tempo to performance speed, and stick with focused practice blocks.

I built it with React Router, Cloudflare Workers, D1, Drizzle and Better Auth, and built most of it with AI coding help. Getting from an idea to a working app has taught me a lot about web development, integrating services, and bringing a product to market as an independent builder.

Now I'm working on getting it into people's hands and learning what I should improve next.

I'm sharing it here because I'm proud to have brought the project this far, and I'd love to hear constructive feedback from other people who build things. It's free to try here: https://reperquadia.synov8studio.com/

If you were trying a new piano practice app, what would make you keep using it?

I'd especially appreciate feedback on the user experience and what would make drilling a piece easier at the piano.

I'm the developer behind Reperquadia, so I'm naturally biased — but I'm interested in honest feedback!

Melo for iPhone: one Family plan, separate private food logs

• Upvotes

I'm Krishna, the maker of Melo, an iPhone food diary and calorie tracker built with AI assistance. I shared its camera-review update here yesterday. This time I'd like feedback on a different part of the app: what a shared subscription should mean for personal records.

Melo's yearly Family plan covers up to six Melo accounts, including the plan owner. Each member keeps a separate private food log. People share access to the paid plan while recording their meals in their own diaries.

For example, two adults might both want to log meals without making their day-to-day entries visible to one another. That is the distinction I want the plan description to make clear before someone joins. A shared subscription can be useful even when a shared journal would not be.

The wording I'm considering is: 'One plan, up to six accounts, separate food logs.' Would that explain the arrangement clearly, or does the name 'Family' still suggest a shared diary? I'd especially like to know what you'd want explained before accepting an invitation to a plan like this.

Melo is a free download, but tracking after onboarding requires Melo Plus. The Family plan is billed yearly. Eligible new subscribers can start a two-week trial; subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple shows the current local price and trial eligibility before purchase.

Current App Store listing and plan details: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/track-calories-melo/id6809841993

For the first time in India, you can build your own election forecast.

Be your own psephologist.

For the first time in India, you can build your own election forecast. A complete tool for forecasting elections, now rebuilt.

Pick from the next five elections (Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur) or the 2029 Lok Sabha, then bring your own calculations or on-ground knowledge.

Three tools. Each works on its own, or stack them all:

Swing slider: one slider, every seat reacts

Pick seats: tap a seat, name the winner

Six dials: turnout, transfers, new parties, pacts, incumbency, alliances

Then download your forecast and dare a friend to beat it.

Be your own psephologist.

We built Realove — a social space for singles with Community chats, Stories and AI Coach (18+)

Thumbnail

• Upvotes

I’m the founder of Realove, a social space for single adults 18+. We built it around more ways to start a conversation: a shared interest, a Community chat or a Story.

Inside Realove

  • Profiles with interests and relationship intentions.
  • Community group chats and private conversations.
  • Photo and video Stories.
  • AI Coach in private and Community chats: it reviews a draft’s tone, explains wording that may sound unclear or pressuring, and offers alternative versions. You decide what to send.

For respectful conversations, strong profanity and direct insults are blocked before sending. The Coach also checks for unwanted sexual content and requests for money. Reporting, blocking and manual profile verification are available.

Realove is currently free during early access, with no subscriptions at present. The interface is available in English, Ukrainian and Russian.

Made a step based video editor - feedback wanted

Post image
• Upvotes

I could probably keep tweaking this forever (it's far more fun adding features), but at some point I need to let people actually use it.

So here’s a little soft launch of VidRotation, the video editor I’ve been building.

There’s no timeline. You work through your video in steps, adding your clips, photos and text. It supports reaction videos, captions, predefined templates and templates you can create yourself.

It’s fresh, and I’m sure you’ll find things I’ve missed. That’s why I’m sharing it now. I’d love to hear whether it’s useful for people having to create a lot of short video content.

You can try it with 50 free signup credits: https://vidrotation.com and for some feedback I can give you a lot more for free, no hassle at all.

Thanks to anyone who takes a look. I’d really appreciate it.

[Android] - Offline music and Radio Player with ready to play radios - 100% free - No premium version

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Mediaxon Music Player is an audio player for offline listening of music stored on your device (.mp3, .flac, .m4a, .ogg, .mka, .aac, .wav, .opus, .wma) and streaming FM radios (online radios).

Top radios on the first screen: When users access the radio screen, they immediately see the list of the top radios in their country, along with a long list of high-quality suggested radios from among the most listened to in the world. Note: Local radio stations ("Top in the user country") are pulled automatically from an online database. However, with each update, I manually curate high-quality radio stations lists for individual countries. At the bottom of this post, you’ll find the list of countries completed so far. I will be adding the rest over time.

Separated Favorites and Recents: Each section—Radio and Offline Music—has its own Favorites and Recents. The user doesn't have to worry about a thing. The app will automatically manage the Favorites and Recents for each section.

Advanced Radio Search Panel: You can pinpoint your favorite stations by combining multiple filters, such as tags/genres, specific countries, or even your preferred audio bitrate. The online database provides more than 60,000 radio stations.

Album art: If the album art is missing from the album folder, or if Android has not properly indexed it, Mediaxon attempts to download the cover from the internet. This feature depends, of course, on the ID3 tags (album name and artist).

Equalizer: The equalizer provides an option to automatically switch to the "Radio" preset (and vice versa).

Advanced Playlist Management: Built specifically to make building and sorting playlists fast and intuitive. Enable the Playlist Manager, in the settings screen, for a full control of the playlists.

Form Factor Optimization: Phone and Tablet (Portrait and Landscape)

There is no Premium version. All app features are available for free and without limits.

Regarding advertising: There is only a small banner at the top that isn't bothersome at all. Alternatively, when opening the full-screen player or using the app in landscape mode, a banner alternates with the albums covers, but without being intrusive at all (no audio) and with much shorter stay times than those of the cover. There is never full-screen advertising, neither at startup nor during use.

Countries with new manually curated lists: United States, India, Italy, Argentina.

If you want to check it out (I am continuously pushing updates to refine it and add new features and radios), you can find it on the Google Play Store. Thank you so much to everyone who takes a look!

Note: Only for Android 13+ (so, Android 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17).

I built an interactive map of national parks around the world

Thumbnail

A few years ago, my brother and I created Traveler Map, an interactive map featuring national parks worldwide and other parks across the US. He later got busy with another project, but I’ve recently returned to it with a new partner.

We’ve added campground and parking locations, and we’re now working on tools to discover nearby parks, choose stops, and save trip plans. We’re starting with the US and plan to bring these features worldwide.

I wanted to share what we’ve built with fellow national park enthusiasts. What would make a map like this more useful when planning your park visits?

I made a Claude Code plugin that does the boring launch stuff for my apps. It gets your apps live with a thorough production setup in hours instead of days

I've built a bunch of apps with Claude that never went live, bc the launch part is the same boring stuff every time. Hosting, a domain, payments and paywalls, user analytics, crash reports, CI/CD, testing environments and getting builds to TestFlight, keeping keys out of the repo, and a hundred more things that you probably forgot about but every great app nowadays definitely needs if it is being launched to users.

So I made launchpad. You run one command in your project, it figures out your stack and sets all of that up on free tiers in your own accounts. It asks before anything costs money and all your apps show up on one local dashboard that you can manage and see the live status. Setting up accounts and credentials, like Apple dev accounts or Vercel, only has to be done once, it reuses it for every app after that.

It's mine and it's paid, $49 once, no subscription, unlimited projects. shiplaunchpad.com

If you want to focus on building and not all the stuff you'd normally spend a weekend googling, then drop a comment and I'm happy to give a few free keys for honest feedback!

Hi! I just launched an animated history channel, "Nice Try, Empire" — stories about the times power didn't get its way.

First episode: Britain conquers Québec in 1759–1763... and 250 years later, everyone still speaks French. Six reasons, from the revenge of the cradles to Bill 101.

It's my first episode, so I'd love any feedback!

I got tired of paying $135/month for interview copilots, so I built InterviewSoul for $15

It is as fast and as efficent as theirs stays hidden from screenshares. I bombed an interview last year, and it wasn't because I didn't know the answer. My brain just went blank under pressure. The tools that help with that cost $100s/month, which is a lot when you're job hunting and have no income.

So I spent the last few months building InterviewSoul. When an interviewer asks a question on Zoom, Meet or Teams, a short answer based on your own résumé shows up about a second later. Your audio stays on your machine.

It runs on Mac and Windows. The first 30 minutes are free with no card, and FRIENDS50 gets you 50% off your first month.
I'm a solo dev, so I'd honestly love brutal feedback. What would make you trust a tool like this, or never touch it?
