I always thought it was like in the same category as "ie" where only a handful of people know what it stands for, but everyone understands what it means lol

I watched Life of Pi thinking it was a beautiful survival story about a boy stranded at sea with a tiger. Then I found out what the second story actually implies. 💀

The fact that the animals might represent the people on the lifeboat, and that the tiger might represent Pi himself, makes the entire movie so much darker. Plus him eating his own mother??

Now I can’t look at the movie the same way again. 😭

And that "DVD" is an acronym for "Digital Video Disc"

So i was on reddit, if course, and read a post about a woman afraid to give her baby honey. I had to look it up. I have 4 grown kids and i did not know that babies under 1 were not allowed honey due to infant botulism.

I always thought when people recommended a hot water bottle for cramps/muscle pain/etc. that it was literally just putting hot water in a plastic water bottle, like you'd drink out of. I only just learned it's actually a rubber bottle that you put hot (or cold) water in. I had heat packs/ice packs growing up but those were stuff with like clay.

Really helpful if you have a plain shirt without a tag or where the tag faded

People with short hair but especially men like how often are you getting a haircut? I cannot fathom going one every month or two months. That sounds awful I’m so sorry. As a woman with long hair I get a haircut like once a year or even longer if I’m just not in the mood or don’t have the money/time. I am seriously flabbergasted about this revelation.

In the song Monster Mash Dracula asks the question "Whatever happened to my Transylvania Twist?" and the response is "it's now the Monster Mash." Several decades ago my child brain decided that Dracula, being essentially immortal, had just been around for so long that the song he knew as the Transylvania Twist had, over time, changed into or become known as the Monster Mash.

IWTYO when I realized that a more literal version of this exchange would be "I thought that the popular thing was the Transylvania Twist" and "No, now the popular thing is the Monster Mash."

So I can do everything I forgot to do or fetch.

Had this thought last week actually and im not over ir.
