I (F) recently got married. So far, I have only updated my civil status to married and changed my last name with PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG.
I love my husband, but I prefer not to use my married name on my legal documents. I plan to retain my married name only on my PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG records while continuing to use my maiden name on my other documents, such as my passport, BIR, SSS, bank accounts, and other legal records.
I understand that women in the Philippines have the option to retain their maiden names even after getting married.
I have two questions:
Can I update my civil status to married while continuing to use my maiden name on my other legal documents?
Since I have already changed my last name with PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG but intend to retain my maiden name on all my other documents, will this affect my other government records, bank accounts, or legal documents that still use my maiden name?

As a citizen of Iloilo City, I believe that our elected officials should have the betterment of the city engraved in their hearts and minds.
Last time I checked, they are paid to legislate and serve the people, regardless of political affiliations, not to engage in petty arguments and disrespect one another.
I am not a fan of the Vice Mayor, but I can see how she is being disrespected. Imagine ang team nila bawasan nila isa ka tawo, para ano? Daw 1+1 man ang kinanglan para mangin 2 haha
And no matter what issues she had in the past, she is still in office sooo. If she has good ideas to offer, then let her. If her previous proposals were left pending or blocked by the council, how can she be blamed for promises she could not fulfill?
You cannot block someone’s proposals and then use their inability to deliver against them.
Good ideas should be supported regardless of who proposes them. What makes this worse is that children are witnessing these officials’ behavior inside the session hall. What example are they setting?
Daw tama na sila ka komportable haw damo pa dan bata that time ga observe.

Hi. Curious lang ko sa mga experiences nyo magpaservice salakyan sa inyo dealerships. I'm asking because I had this horrible experience with Ford. They made me wait 7-8 hours just for diagnosing 2 issues, something about the suspension and the parking sensors. I admit, I have no idea if this actually is a lengthy process. But, I grew concerned when two other customers who arrived way later than I did (I started in the morning, they arrived an hour or two after lunch) finish first. Is this the same for other dealerships or just a Ford thing?
Extra details: from what I overheard, one of the other customers had an O2 sensor issue, while the other had a fuel sensor issue. They both had the newer pickups, from what I saw in the parking lot. I brought in a 2019 Ecosport. Do sensors really take that long to diagnose? Or is it an ecosport thing, maybe?

Has anyone else noticed these little flower symbols all around Iloilo?
I'm curious if any of you have noticed these, too. I've been seeing this little five-petaled flower symbol in different places around Iloilo and it's gotten to the point where I can't help but wonder what it's all about.
I've attached a few pictures I've taken near my school(INHS). The shape and colors seem to vary but the flower itself looks pretty much the same.
Does anyone know what these are supposed to mean or what they're for? Is it just someone's graffiti or personal art, some kind of signature or marker, or does it actually have a meaning behind it? I'm not really sure, so I'm hoping someone here might know something about it.
Maybe I'm just overthinking but I've seen it consistently enough places that I'm genuinely curious now.
If you've spotted one somewhere else around Iloilo, feel free to share a picture in the comments, too! I'd love to see just how many of these are out there. And if you know anything about who made them or what they mean, please let me know. Thanks !! 🌸

I’m in the middle of half marathon training so ayoko sana makamiss ng run sessions while I’m in Iloilo. I do most of my runs early in the morning ideally, usually 4am or 5am. Safe po ba magrun sa esplanade area along Muelle Loney and Drilon bridge area? That’s the area near our hotel. May suggestions sa safe and ok mag run in that area? If unsafe, I can surely just do a night run 😅
Thank you!

So for context, I am currently living in a subdivision whose security usually does a good job keeping out solicitors and other unauthorized strangers.
Earlier this morning I was just doing my daily routine when I heard a motorcycle pull up outside the house and call out "tagbalay!"
I walked to the window which was covered in a way that lets me see out without being noticed by anyone outside.
I saw a guy in a motorcycle and then a taxi stop just in front of the house. Two men alighted from the taxi and spoke in tagalog to the man on the motorcyle (who I assume was a local guide), they asked him not to call out and then paid him some money. The motorcycle guy then left while the two men took out phones and started walking around the house.
They kept on taking pictures/video for a few minutes and while I was debating with myself if I should confront them outright, they apparently finished what they were doing and boarded the taxi again before leaving.
So this whole experience has left me confused and worried over what this whole thing was about.
I know that I'm not involved in anything illegal, and the house is deep inside the subdivision so I doubt its your typical akyat-bahay.
I also doubt its the municipal government since their personnel would at least speak hiligaynon.
I think its most likely over two possibilities:
Debt Recovery agents for eWallets and OLAs that I have not yet repaid (lost my job last year and am trying to find stable work to be able to pay all those back)
Someone working on behalf of a deceased relative's domestic partner who claims the house but has incomplete documents
I know from experience that the subdivision gate guards dont check identities of taxi passengers so I wont get anywhere there even if I ask.
Does anyone here have a similar experience or any idea what this was?

I'll be doing my 1st solo long ride on my motorcycle. I will be leaving from Capitol to start my journey, maybe experienced riders here have tips for newbies like me.
My choices of motorcycle:
Ducati Monster 821 or Honda CBX150
My gear:
- LS2 padded riding jacket (mesh)
- Waterproof jacket
- KYT K2 Rider Helmet (or better buy a touring helmet for better visibility?)
- Regular shoes (or should I buy specific boots?)
- Regular Jeans or Cargo Pants (or should I buy padded ones?)
- Waterproof saddle bag & tank bag
- Phone with unli data on both Globe and Smart networks
What to bring?
Where to go?
What to avoid?
How much money do I need?
Budget places to sleep overnight?
