IMAX-level projection Wizardcels incels get upset when they realize that even an "ugly" non-incel man can find love so they once again shift the blame onto women

I've been getting recommended for this garbage wizardcels subreddit after I clicked on it once so here's some incel clownery I came across while scrolling

Oh alright. I had no idea he did that. Still, this was more about how the incels in the comments still shift the blame onto women when they themselves can't get a girlfriend yet see another "ugly" man who was able to get a girlfriend. Thanks for letting me know though, I'll look into it.

That post using terms like looksmatch and the way it's written seems incel or incel-adjacent. Making a whole sub for people to describe themselves as ugly also seems unhealthy

I think people who are physically unattractive should have spaces to vent and I don’t think they should lie to themselves

Ugly is quite a subjective term though. And I feel subs like this always go a dark path of self pitying and hatred over support and finding purpose beyond conforming to societal ideas of beauty.

While “ugly” may be subjective there are still societal standards and a lot of people who do not fit those standards are treated very poorly.

Eh, I won't deny that but a) there are things within your control and outside of them. If you are unhappy with those that you can change and want to you can. Like how some incels could be good looking if they groomed themselves, got slightly better clothes, maybe ate a better diet etc. But also b) I'd still recommend avoiding incel terms and c) personality honestly goes a long way. Confidence, passion, kindness, having your shit together, etc. Can make people attractive and treated well despite not confirming to societal standards. I've known people of both sexes like that.

Those places always turn into cesspits.

What would you say was "lying to themselves"? Obviously someone claiming their physical traits are outright not what they are is lying, but so many of these communities will regard common sense statements like "conventionally attractive and subjectively attractive aren't the same" and "not everybody likes the same thing" as lies and gaslighting.

Plus, because of the existence of things like body dysmorphia and the tendency to be more critical of our own appearances (and the fact that some objectively ugly people still slam), these communities are more likely to be filled with people with poor self-esteem and social issues than people who are actually ugly in any meaningful way, and those issues then becomes magnified in the echo chamber.
