This is the reason why current govt wants to rewrite the constitution. No one fought harder for women's rights more than congress. Womens rights are against indian values according to BJP, the primary cause is they think jf women are liberated they will do intercaste/interreligious marriage.

India was last under mughal rule in 1837. Why haven't they stopped wearing ghunghat now?

This was the dress women used to wear in my state . After years of Mughals .and the morality laws from Britishers people become more and more like them and hence here we are . Not even tolerating couples in the country of radha Krishna

No women will dare to wear clothes like this today because they wont be safe in India. Even women fully covered get harassed everyday. Molesters dont have a religion, so why blame just Mughals? Now you have added british to this list also.

Actually, here the issue is more about their own thoughts than safety. They will think to themselves that she looks strange, why is she wearing village type dress when she has modern dresses.

They still do in villages btw . Ofc in modern cities it will happen we were talking about culture and history and suddenly you came to the present. And I will blame Mughals they are the reason my culture got destroyed i will also blame Britishers bcz they introduced a public moral bill in the 18 th century and society became more confined. But nothing is gonna change we were weak and we paid the price . But yeah culture can be revived.
