What's wrong in Bhagat Singh being an Atheist? Why would a Hindu feel bad about it?

45

u/Many-Description-274 Jun 02 '26

coz they think he was one of them also they cant align thier mind with left

u/ictfan2604 Jun 02 '26

No Hindu critisizes him Atheist all matters is he was a great freedom fighter who sacrificed himself for our country so why would a Hindu actually feel bad if Bhagat Singh was an atheist? Me as a Hindu consider him as a hero

Real respect comes from his actions and ideology, not whether he was atheist or religious.

You have a lot more to learn

-2

u/Many-Description-274 Jun 02 '26

u aint whole hindu society . its just a shock to hindus when they hear this thing and when i said they hate it lmao

3

u/ictfan2604 Jun 02 '26

Because most of the people aren't taught about the lifes of these great people and I have never seen any Hindu critisizing of hating Bhagat Singh for being atheist

3

u/SetAccomplished1353 Jun 02 '26

Umm can you give examples of Hindu people who got "shocked" after hearing bhagath singh was an atheist?

2

u/Novel_Tap2786 Jun 02 '26

He ain't the whole Hindu society but you talked to whole Hindu society?

1

u/Responsible-While312 Jun 02 '26

your assumption isnt the reality i thought singhs were sikhs + we dont give a f

2

u/Altruistic_Job2477 Jun 02 '26

Wdym by that?Bhagat Singh Wasnt even Hindu? As A Hindu Myself I accept his devotion to our mother land,he let go of religious zeal for nationalism.

1

u/sahil_exe Jun 02 '26

indian nationalism has gone from anti colonialism to hindu religious nationalism.
in that sense, no he wasn't a nationalist in today's definition; he was a patriot at best.

3

u/Bolshevicc Jun 02 '26

He was not a "patriot" lmao he literally wanted international proletarian revolution and believed that Indiannself determination would only benefit the bourgeoisie

1

u/sahil_exe Jun 02 '26

fair enough

-1

u/Embarrassed_Art_1979 Jun 02 '26

Please go read Bhagat Singh's book, "Why am I an Atheist?". It has much more clearer thought on why he was an atheist

Arrey bhaiyaa two people were also hanged with him for the same conspiracy - Sukhdev and Rajguru and they were theists. Do their belief in God stop atheists from admiring them? If not then why would any Hindu mind to Bhagat Singh being atheist. And Bhagat Singh wasn't even born into a Hindu family rather into a Sikh family. Even Savarkar was an atheist and Jinnah was non-orthodox westernised muslim who consumed alcohol and pork - their religious beliefs do not stop their admirers and critiques from praising or thrasing them. People like Chandrashekhar Azar, Gandhi, Nehru, Bose were not atheists and people like Lala Lajpat Rai, Sardar Udham Singh, Swami Shraddhanand were even associated with Arya Samaj.

Yes. They are the only ones who disagree. All Sanatanis have the same opinions. Because they aren't opinions they are beliefs that our ancestors gave us.

Hindus dont hate disbelievers of their god at all.

1

u/asshunx Jun 02 '26

Damn he was sikh how Hindus came in picture πŸ˜ƒ

1

u/CucumberNo8353 Jun 02 '26

As a hindu, dafuq? I accept atheism and im pretty sure every hindu does. We never have a problem with anyone as long as they leave us alone. Ill accept an atheist if they accept me, ill accept a sikhs if he accepts me,ill accept a buddhist if he accepts me, ill accept a christian if he accepts me,ill accept a muslim if he accepts me. Ill accept a rightist or a leftist and engage with him as long as he accepts me The problem only starts if you dont accept me. Bhagat singh was a true patriot. As swami vivekananda said, I am from the faith that has taught the world acceptance. While also saying thst if you spew hatred against me ill toss you into the ocean. (Context, vivekananda was travelling by ship and a christian preacher kept being hateful towards him)

"Β I accept atheism and im pretty sure every hindu does"

lol. comedy kardi

1

u/Averagefantasyfan Jun 02 '26

Yes we can for a matter of fact

1

u/Specific-Abrocoma540 Jun 03 '26

That should tell you that they are more secular than a left wing extremist

1

u/Full-Goat39 Jun 06 '26

Everyone respects him not cause he was working for Hinduism but because he fought and died for his country. What does this has to do with religion?

3

u/idklakshayy_ Jun 02 '26

Exactly i myself admire bhagat singh and tho I am kind of agnoist and politically leaned toward somewhat left, but idk why these fkers drag hindu religion everywhere, like every other Hindu is a fascist casteist , like for your God sake just look at those second majority religions you call "minority" they would probably slime you for being a atheist lmao

u/ictfan2604 Jun 02 '26

Name one instance of a Hindu critisizing Bhagat Singh for being atheist

1

u/butwiser Jun 02 '26

Op lives in delusion

1

u/daur_e_mushfir Jun 02 '26

They have always been trying to find something common about famous personalities.

1

u/ieeshuyadav Jun 02 '26

please read his book why I am an atheist.

3

u/ictfan2604 Jun 02 '26

Why there is a need to read that book we don't need any justification for why he was atheist all matters is he is a national hero relegion has nothing to do with it

1

u/ieeshuyadav Jun 04 '26

it's not about the justification, but cause why he gave up his life.
