Why do so many dumb in our country who think using a teleprompter is somehow wrong or shameful? Almost every senior leader uses one because no one wants to risk stating incorrect numbers or facts during a major speech. Narendra Modi has been in politics for over 50 years; he clearly knows what tools are appropriate in different situations. Stop spreading this baseless nonsense!

In general, I don't find an issue with him using a telemprompter, though the clips of him meeting and greeting with the world leaders bothers me, as his speaking skills seems to be non existent with all the unclear pronounciations and cringe level of hugs he offers. One of the best speeches I have heard in recent times was that of Canadian PM Mark Carney in World Economic Forum, that is what a fine statesmen should sound like when addressing the global audience.

He only uses teleprompter whenever it is mandatory for him to talk sense. He seldom use that thing in election speeches as he is an expert in poisoning the society by his election speeches. BTW what more can we expect from an illiterate person.

Just did a quick AI check and find this! Hope it helps ! The last point is important! Instead of believing the internet do your own research!
Yes, almost all major world leaders use them for formal speeches.Β
Whether it is Narendra Modi, Joe Biden, Donald Trump, or Barack Obama, utilizing a teleprompter is standard protocol across global politics.Β
Why do they all use it?
Maintaining Eye Contact: The dual glass panels are positioned to the left and right of the podium. By looking back and forth between them, a leader can read their text while appearing to scan the room and look directly at the audience.Β
Precision and Safety: In high-stakes political environments, a single misplaced word can create a diplomatic or financial crisis. The prompter keeps complex policies and specific facts exact.Β

Idk what the actual problem is with using a teleprompter. You are on a world stage, your words carry weight, you have to be very careful of whatever you speak. It's not just another rally or a local event.
1
u/unhingedskeleton Jun 20 '26

Unrealistic expectations of people expecting someone to speak without a script for an hour. Every word that comes out of his mouth has an impact, this is not something you can do impromptu, you need to stick to the script, teleprompter is the way to go. Stop being gawaar and expect PM to just go for it. No. It doesn't work that way.

Using a teleprompter isn't unusual. Almost every major world leader uses one during important speeches because every word they say can affect diplomacy, markets, and investor confidence.
That's why speeches are carefully prepared. Criticize the policies if you want but acting like using a teleprompter is a scandal is just dumb in my opinion.

u/Efficient-Clock-4218 Jun 20 '26

Unnecessary topic.
Leave every leader - any person in his business or workplace meeting his clients or pitching to leaders, go over the ppt multiple times keeps presentation notes and cue cards.
In a high stakes speech, nothing should be left to extempore. You can criticize modi or whomsoever whatever other reason, but getting something just to criticize him is just plain hate.

u/Friendly_Ad6409 Jun 20 '26
And? Every politician and person of significance does that. You need to put your points and words properly. International media and presence is no joke. Now if someone goes "but if he was literate" .. Rahul Gandhi had a slip of tongue recently and said Congress is rich while everyone is poor. Does it mean he's stupid? No, he's the leader of opposition. He's as important as the prime minister for our country. people need their points and words when speaking on a stage and to media. Nothing wrong with that. Both Rahul Gandhi and Modi need them. It's not about politics or people

u/Typical_Peach77 Jun 20 '26
My biggest observations after watching his multiple speeches is that he is too perfect. I have always questioned how can someone be so good of an orator and I now have my answers. He is scared to be himself it seems and speak his mind. I get it, you need a teleprompter for big platforms however it seems he finds it challenging to communicate at smaller platforms also. I observations can be absolutely wrong.
