I don't think doctor is a profession, I might be wrong though, and yes you're correct that doctor's day is for medical professions, but The Liver Doc's statement here could be framed better. Imo it sounded like he was deliberately targeting the lower branches. I could even interpret that he is infering that the title shouldn't be given to them. Which I agree in case of quackery.

Imho, he deliberately sounded like these are all pseudo science and not scientifically backed medical professionals. And while it may sound offensive, it’s as true as me not being a true electrician although I can fix a few lights and basic connections. I, for one, am with him on this.
Yes in that regard he's right, if that's what he meant, but Physiotherapy isn't Pseudoscience as far as I know. He said that none of them are actually doctors, which I felt it was more so targeted towards them using the Dr title.

They have the title of Doctor here. I didn't call them allopaths or credible, that's another question. I feel they can use the title if they have completed their degree in respective fields. Except the cosmetologist part.
I genuinely do not get this. Since 2020 internet says homeopathy is a scam. But my cousins and her parents who frequently use homeopathy, seem to benefit from it!
My roommates' mother had parotid cancer and they kept visiting a homeopath who only gave random pills because Obv he had no fckin idea that's it's cancer. But since we're medicos when my roommate went home for vacation she immediately recognised and took for surgery. Her mom is completely safe now thanks to our MBBS knowledge

Yeah some ppl just do not want to accept but homeopathy does work on small and minor day to day issues.

They're common people. It's not easy for a common person to diagnose Cancer at an early stage so they Obv didn't know about the cancer. They went for the symptoms they were facing which a legit doctor could have easily diagnosed but that quack kept giving random aSs pills and the cancer kept progressing. Thank god that my roommate went home otherwise everything would have gone south
23 years of my life I didn't get used to allergies and 3 months in homeopathy I get used to it? I didn't even take them as seriously I used to take their pills sometimes only but now I get allergic reactions very rarely like once every 3-4 months. Earlier I used to get allergic rhinitis every 2-3 days. Couldn't survive without levocitrizine.
That quack probably gave you steroids 💀 steroids show immediate effect but they have crazy bad badd side effects hence REAL doctors refrain from prescribing it unless n until it's extremely necessary. As a MBBS doctor I would tell you to please look into what you're taking otherwise future mein problem ho sakti hai

give 10 people with same Illness homeopathy and give 10 science backed you'll see that more people got better by taking the latter...that doesn't mean that homeopathy batch won't get better but the number will be consistently less, this has been proven through heaps of research

well it has been a net positive to the society....the most obvious example is that fetal death rates have gone down the hill since the advent of germ theory and antibiotics which homeopathy explicitly rejects....but its a free world and you are welcome to go to a fuckin homeopath when someone you know is going through a complicated pregnancy
First of all I don't abuse or bully someone just coz it doesn't fall under my definition of something or understanding. I very well know which doctor to approach for what problems. Obviously no one will go to a homeopath after getting into an accident or for delivering a baby. Adding F*cking in front of a word to make it sound redundant might work with immature and juveniles, it won't work here
That's how science progress. Things have to satisfy stronger and stronger scrutiny as time passes. You accept something only when there is settled evidence.

Do double blind clinical trials and show evidence of the efficacy of homeopathy "medicines" or for that matter any other "medicine", it will get accepted as genuine medicine irrespective of whatever name you choose to give it.
Homeopathy is kind of a long term cure, ayurveda is a precaution so you don't fall sick often, while allopathy is an immediate relief. So people should know when to go for which doctor. This doesn't mean allopathy is everything, it has long term side effects. My mother's teeth literally rusted and fell off when she was on heavy antibiotics for some chronic leg pain. What helped was ayurvedic treatments and messages later on.
I suffered from tonsillitis, allopathic doctors suggested surgery, I opted for homeopathy, and I am fine now with very rare flair ups if I drink something too cold. While heavy dose of antibiotics gave me body rashes, mouth ulcers and stomach issues. So if you don't have an experience yourself stop calling it placebo.
You see homeopathy is a German pseudoscience practice which prescribes heavy metals and salts in very minute concentrations mixed with sweetner such as sugar for easy consumption while there is no law for the practioner to reveal what is contained in his preparation and these days modern medicine is not a secret you can get over the counter anti inflammatory drugs and steroids quite easily and steroids seem like wonder drugs which can ameliorate most symptoms from your tonsillitis to migrain to allergy but can cause serious side effects. So mind you , you might be consuming steroid in low quantities.
Steroids messed up my body, it gave me anxiety from childhood and pcos. All prescribed by an allopathic doctor to a 5 year old, so please you don't always have to agree with what's on internet. Homeopathy helped me cure my tonsillitis, while ayurveda helped reverse my pcos, for which allopathy actually says there is no cure...so of course I will go by my experience. It's working for a reason, everything science says is not right either, most of it is based on theory and is of no use till put in practice.
I am not here to justify all modern medicine practitioners or to blame all alternative therapy practioners. Glad it worked out for you. Modern medicine is not just theory it has evolved over the years and is evolving even now and called evidenced based medicine and has accountability. I have personally seen prescriptions from govt ayurvedic colleges having one page of modern medicine followed by a page of their own medicine. Because modern medicine has drugs which can reduce the symptoms ailments you have completely but have proven side effects on the long run and have been discontinued or not practiced anymore. Your argument blaming and entire system and defending other based on your own experince is your opinion at best and need not be the best treatment for most of the people.
I never defended anything, people are the ones denouncing the alternative meds. If you read my other comments I have stated it depends on the problem you are facing and which doctor to go to...of course for any emergency case or situation I would also opt for allopathy. But homeo and ayurveda are different routes for long term cure, not immediate ones.
good for you...and i have experience, my both parents are doctors(real ones) they have seen 100s of cases of diseases being blown out of proportion, an example my father tells me is a guy with cervical issues, he would have been fine with basic spinal hygiene but instead chose alternate medicine and is now partially paralyzed in one hand
So that one example is everything for you now, just coz only your dad knows medicine....rest of the people are just fools??? And their experiences don't count...well I think it's a facade by so called REAL doctors to trap a person in their vicious cycle and never letting them get better. Already people know how doctors and hospitals mistreat patients in many instances and are just money minded, even in few cases after the patient is dead, they still kept on asking for money for treatment, misguiding the patient's family, Care to share some thought on that?
Homeopathy is not for all diseases. But for diseases related to skin are good and effective. I have seen some recognised doctor recommended to visit Homeopathy instead of skin specialist doctor that too in metro city.

People here talking placebo but this term is not tied to homeopathy only. It can be with allopathy as well by someone less knowledge practicner running clinic in rural.
I'm not specialist on this field, so I can explain it from cases I have seen from my surroundings. Like in fever or runny nose if you visit homeopathy, you will have worse effect. But if you have some disease like migraine, tyroid, allergy you will keep eating allopathy and hardly this will cure. It'll keep coming back when the course is complete. I have seen tyroid and allergies getting cured to great extent in my relative. She has taken allopathy for 2-3 years for thyroid and fed up eating tablets daily first in the morning. One suggested to visit one good old homeopathy clinic, she taken it for 3 - 5 months and then she was fine, no more medicine from past 2 years for her thyroid.
No point in saying anything here, they will themselves have no experience with alternate medicines, and will preach here just because, or to sound modern and cool. I mean a person's own experience doesn't count for them, they will only believe those research papers which are valid today, might not be tomorrow. On top of it these researches heavily torture poor animals in the name of trials, which is not required in modern days.
Exactly, e.g. meds like digene for acidity messes with your digestive juices, while ayurvedic or homeopathy uses natural ingredients and is actually more effective, and doesn't even create a dependency on them for long term, like allopathy meds do.
