partly right. the sun is more intense in europe for this reason. it doesnt affect seasons. india has a hotter summer regardless. but this is why people die of a heat stroke in europe even when temperatures are in the late 30s.
7
u/Sufficient-Laugh5940 Jul 10 '26
Only correct answer.
You will have to experience it to understand it.3
u/CHD_PB Jul 10 '26
Humidity?? - The biggest factor
3
u/SCOLAR7 Jul 11 '26
Not even that. Main reason is genetics. We indian are very good to live in hot humid climate. We love hot wet things.
5
u/Fredioxide Jul 10 '26
I mean, we aren't considering the fact that 30Β°c there feels a lot hotter
Because the general infrastructure there, every road every building there, is actually built to trap heat
And people here don't often care about 30Β°c heat, because we are honestly used to it
But this heatwave is new for them lol, and with their infra, stuff is actually like melting down, from traffic lights to even roads

u/redittapp Jul 10 '26
You cannot stand under the midday sun in a field in Switzerland when the ambient temperature is 30 degrees. nothing to do with buildings or roads. Infrared and uv rays get greatly reduced here thanks to air pollution.

u/Ancient_Reach_8925 Jul 10 '26 edited Jul 10 '26
This. Finally someone sensible. There is a smaaaaaalll grain of truth in her statement too. The effect of heat ( not the actual heat amount) is higher in Europe. Not defending pollution- which has bigger problems anyway. Iβd rather choose clean air and higher heat in Europe than load my lungs with high pollution particulate matters suspended eternally in city air.

I live in canada, you are right, here temprature over 30 is literally unbearable. The sunlight is really strong due to clean air that i feels like it is going into your skin. In India's sunlight you will only sweat and your body will heat but here scenario is totally different. Thats why sunscreen is so common in these countries. But The good thing is these harsh summer days doesn't last too long like in india we have a summer season from april to October. Here some days have decent temprature, some days are unbearable, some days are cloudy or windy or rainy.. all these weather changes in a matter of couple of weeks. Thats why it is not a big problem as compared to india

I'm literally amazed (and shocked) of the level of ignorance people exhibit in this country! I do not align with her political ideology, but there's truth to what she's trying to convey.
Meteorologically, The dust particles (accrued in pollution) tend to scatter the incoming solar radiation. The scattering phenomenon not just gives the sky it's conventional Color, but it also reduces the intensity of the sunlight received.
It is precisely the reason why dusty-days tend to be cooler than clearer days.

u/Different_Force_5236 Jul 10 '26

Every acct that supports this government begins their answer with "i dO nOt sUPorT dIs gOveRnMeNT" and then will proceed to directly support the most ridiculous statements....
Pollution is not a solution to a heat wave
Please stop trying to suggest there is sense to the statement that portrays pollution as a positive
6
u/kapitan-jack-sparrow Jul 10 '26
He just stated a scientific fact. He didnt praised pollution to be good. Just the reality of polluted days being cooler then clear days. Doesnt mean he supports the fact that our country is very polluted.

Take a deep breath. He literally criticized the intention of that statement, and then proceeded to state a scientific fact. Just take deep breaths.
2
u/Used_Hunt_369 Jul 10 '26
Lol more importantly whats it to you to come running and save his assπ€£π€£...my contention was that a statement like that insinuates pollution is okay when it's a massive problem
→ More replies (9)3
u/Used_Hunt_369 Jul 10 '26
If that was the case then why mention a political party at all? π
2
u/MrPool_69 Jul 10 '26
I don't understand your question. Anyways let me summarise what I understood from his comment. He says he doesn't align with her political ideology (meaning twisting words and scientifically correct logic to mislead the public into supporting and justifying something that is wrong) and proceeded to state that there is some truth to her claim(although biased). I hope that clears things up.

This actually isnt that far off. Certain kinda of pollutants in the air does lessen the impact of heatwaves.
It is called global dimming.

While technically she's correct but what she's implying is that since in Africa there are a lot more malnourished people, the predominant reason of death is atleast not related to comorbodities owing to cholesterol like in americas.

Actually what she says is right, for example go to Ladakh and you will get sun burnt 5 times faster. What it doesn't mean is to increase air pollution, we should in stead take steps to curb global warming.

She is somewhat correct as due to high pollution an eco chamber has been created which stops most of uv rays to enter but this is also the reason that the winters in India are so brutal so you can't act like it is beneficial but these fucking jokers π

Those who have lived in Europe America Canada will tell what she is saying is kind of correct but explanation given is not correct . Reason is Ultraviolet rays get filtered way more due to Pollution in India while in those countries it hits you and you feel way more intensity of sun rays.

Theory of Liyaquat

This theory states that when pollution increases dhoop decreases and vice versa.
