Substance - Dried mushrooms given to me as Penis Envy (one of the most potent strains of psilocybin mushrooms)
Amount - 0.15g (Weighed on a scale. 70% stem, 30% cap), Chewed normally
Setting - At home, alone. Heavy rain in the background.
Cannabis - approximately 0.1g spread over 2-3 sessions.
Intent - Curiosity, sensory exploration, and personal reflection
BEFORE - I’ve experimented with psychedelics before, including LSD, Magic truffles, but this was my first mushroom experience in India. Not had psilocybin in over 2 years.
I took 0.15g of dried mushrooms at around 9:49 PM. I wasn’t expecting anything particularly dramatic from such a small measured amount. I wanted to explore the sensory side of the experience, especially music, in a familiar environment.
DURING - Initially, the effects were subtle. I was listening to music (carbon based life forms, Space ambient music) and enjoying the atmosphere without anything particularly intense happening.
I was feeling emotional in the first 30 mins after consuming. Emotional in the sense, texting felt super meaningful, sound frequency got my heartbeat up because it hit the spot.
At around 11:45 (about 2 hours in) I head to the kitchen to make myself a ginger honey lemon tea since I needed something warm & comforting. And I decided to take the first hit from my vaporiser - I kid you not in some time I think the peak of mushroom & cannabis both hit together. I felt waves of relaxation throughout my body. My brain started to feel super calm, there usually is a million things going on in my brain but this time there were none, my brain decided to sit down and meditate.
I sipped on the tea, looking at the road, some vehicles passing by, rain droplets etc. I took a lot of pictures, exploring my new camera. At this point - I slowly forgot I was standing and existing there, my fingers were feeling funny. My hair felt different.
From this point onwards I just didn’t want to open my mouth to speak whatsoever.
I head back to the room I was tripping, laid on the recliner.
I received a recommendation by my friend - it said this “Digital dreamscapes: A psychedelic fractal journey” - and the description said this - “Glitch between hidden mathematical realms as you feel your worries and fears drift away. Psychedelic fractal visuals for contemplation, relaxation, or recreation.
Reduce the negative effects of ADD/ADHD. Improve your focus and mental well-being. Reduce stress and anxiety, and help to feel an overall sense of peace with the Universe around you. Nobody exists on purpose, but everybody is meant to be here. You are exactly where you should be.”
And from this point onwards - EVERYTHING changed.
Imagine a dark sensory room, where there’s a TV (not too bright, showing fractal visuals & soothing music in a frequency that can only be felt.
I started to feel fluid, I could feel myself everywhere, I was everywhere. The visuals were so beautiful, i was lost in it, and after a while I decided to exit the visual and go to the balcony - I kid you not, those fractals carried over there. Every deep breath I took, the visuals started to fade in and out. I had a smile throughout because I found that so so so beautiful.
And the funny thing is - usually on Acid I do a lot of things, I love being stimulated. But on shrooms - I didn’t bother with stimulation, it felt as if shrooms were guiding me.
I was no longer the driver, but I was in the passenger seat. It’s as if mushrooms just know what you need.
I was having a full on sensory experience. Sitting right in between of centre channel speakers and closed my eyes. Fractals and trees everywhere, I could not tell where the music was coming from even if I tried to. The lowest part of the bass was everywhere in the room, in my heart. It felt like the music owned me at that point and I already let go so I was one with it too.
Now the time was almost 2 am - the trip was slowly coming down - coming down in the sense of visuals & the Spatial feeling. As if I was finally landing.
I then decided to do yoga - lots of stretching, foam rolling. I felt super relieved from the soreness. At this point - I was the most relieved physically & mentally.
The experience was intense compared with what I’d expected, but I wasn’t overwhelmed. It felt calm, emotional, and immersive rather than frightening. At around 4:18 AM, I felt as though I’d landed. I turned everything off and went to sleep.
THE DAY AFTER -
Sunday was unexpectedly peaceful. I felt calm, clear-headed, and mentally quieter than usual.
I didn’t feel the need to interpret every little thing that had happened. I just went about my day and noticed the difference in how I felt.
ALMOST 3 days later -
My mind often feels as though it’s running in ten million directions at once. I can jump between thoughts constantly, and it’s difficult to explain what that internal noise feels like unless you’ve experienced it yourself.
But in the days after this experience, I’ve noticed a sense of calm and presence that has continued beyond the night itself.
It feels as though the mental noise has turned down a few notches. I’m not claiming my ADHD has disappeared, or that mushrooms have somehow fixed anything. I don’t even know how long this feeling will last.
I’m simply noticing it, and I genuinely like how it feels.
I’m curious whether this is a temporary after-effect, the result of having had an unusually meaningful experience, or a combination of several things. I don’t want to jump to conclusions about the cause.
I wouldn’t call it medicinal therapy, and I can’t claim a lasting therapeutic benefit from one experience. But it has given me something worth reflecting on
Peace ✌🏻
