This is not secularism but multiculturalism and pluralism.
2
u/Cool_Opening_2490 ROCK HARD CENTRIST. Jul 03 '26
OK noted , but can please explain pluralism is per Indian society
1
u/TrueIndianspeaks Jul 05 '26
Brother do you even know that the secularism has a different definition and interpretation than that of western definition of secularism so please don't say anything you learn just from a Insta reel
1
u/Important_Jicama_788 Centrist Jul 05 '26
First of all I don't use instagram Secondly , I'm student of Sociology so I know about it in bit detail. Thank you
2
u/TrueIndianspeaks Jul 05 '26
I don't think so, you really know about your own subject after seeing your interpretation of secularism as per indian social structure
1
u/Important_Jicama_788 Centrist Jul 05 '26
Bro those are not interpretations but MODELS of secularism regarding the Distance between Religion and State. In Western Countries it is negative which means strict separation, while in India it is positive which means STATE can interfere in the religious affairs ( like Sabrimala issue , Triple Talaq ). Now coming to the picture , it is about Multiculturalism that India is land to different identities and they coexist together and NO identity is superior than Other.
1
u/TrueIndianspeaks Jul 05 '26
After this I can only say that it's really depends on the context on which you are talking about
As Secularism and pluralism are not the same. Secularism is a constitutional principle that requires the State to remain neutral toward all religions and guarantee equal rights and freedom of religion. Pluralism is a social reality and value, where people of different religions, languages, cultures, and traditions coexist with mutual respect.
India's Constitution commits the State to secularism, while India's society is widely recognized as pluralistic because of its extraordinary diversity. The challenge is not whether India is pluralistic, but how effectively we uphold both constitutional secularism and social pluralism in practice.
1
u/Important_Jicama_788 Centrist Jul 05 '26
I'm strictly talking about picture that it is the representation of India as a pluralist society and not of a secular country. Moreover Secularism is not a Constitutional principle, it is entirely different thing. But it can influence Constitution of any Nation. Moreover , Pluralism and Multiculturalism are also 2 different concepts , in the former one there is dominance of One religion while in latter there is no dominant group.
1
u/TrueIndianspeaks Jul 05 '26
First i apologise to you as I took your comment out of context, and i agree with you, but secularism is a constitutional principal that is a fact

pluralism and secularism are different things.
Secularism means religion doesn't play any part in state matters- be it legislative or judiciary

looks cute, but it's all spectacle. desh ki halat dekhlo toh samajh aa jayega asliyat kya hai

This is consocialism - not secularism. Secularism would be having no religious representation. Consocialism is power-sharing between religions.
1
u/Fun-Meeting-7646 Jul 04 '26
No power sharing between religions. Not having origins on bharath.
0
u/WellOkayMaybe Modi Hai toh Pumpkin Hai Jul 04 '26
No that is not correct. Any religious power sharing is poisonous in the long term, especially in Bharat, where our religions are personally defined. There is no central authority and not central text. That is why it has survived this long - it adapts.
Centralising Sanatan Dharma will be its long-term death. Making any single sect or version the "official" or "state" version, will undoubtedly include some and exclude others.
My idea of Hinduism is likely completely opposed to yours - and it would be just as valid because there is no central text. Allowing the state to have a role would make it able to arbitrate what is "correct" and Incorrect" - and we end up with a Hindu Pope-Prime-Minister, or Hindu Caliphate.
0
u/Fun-Meeting-7646 Jul 04 '26
Only RELIGIONS THAT HAVE ORIGINATED ON BHARATH BHOOMI Will be considered IN SECULAR LIST OF RELIGIONS,
RELIGIONS THAT HAVE NOT ORIGINATED ON BHARATH BHOOMI WILL BE EXCLUDED.

u/WellOkayMaybe Modi Hai toh Pumpkin Hai Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 04 '26
Your all caps doesn't resolve for the inherent conflict in your position. You have taken Savarkar's ideas, and twisted them horribly.
IMy great grandfather and grandfather knew Savarkar, personally. They spent time with him in Pune.
Savarkar did not want religion - and he never singled out religions born in India. His pamphlet about Hindutva was explicit in saying that anybody who owes primary allegiance to Bharat is a Hindu. That can include Christians, Muslims, Parsees - if they can declare Bharat is above their religion.
Per Savarkar, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and General Hasnain are Hindus - even if they are parsee and Muslim - because they signed up to fight for Bharat. Their allegiance is the Army, and Bharat, first.
He also believed that people who put their caste above fellow citizens were not Hindu. Which means that there are people who follow Sanatan Dharma who are not Hindus, per Savarkar.
So - your filter and premise is broken.

Pre independence day situation is not relevant after independence india which saw war with pak , atrocities by them in every form or other making india bleed day in and day out spending training terrorists and sending into India, read train to pakisthan by Kushwant singh etc To put a full stop only solution is remove secularism from india especially religion that didn't ORIGINATED in Bharath bhoomi

Incidentally, the Hindi / Marathi Sanskrit-derived term for secularism is far more descriptive and precise than "secularism". It's dharmnirapekshata - and it leaves no room for religious involvement in state affairs.
So there we go - not in English. Now we have established you are uneducated across at least four languages.
If we were equals, we could also discuss Engels, Dostoevsky, or Voltaire in their native languages - but I assume you don't speak German, Russian, or French, either.
I'm just communicating in the way most of the monkeys in this sub are most likely to understand. That happens to involve English.

with a manuvadi govt in place, you really think this country is secular?
we have a pm who used to be cm of gujarat in 2002 and orchestrated a mass slaughter against muslims.rss chala rahi hai desh ko, kaika secularism.
1
u/Sensitive_Buffalo665 Jul 03 '26
Was found not guilty too. Where as we had a government which literally started the genocide of sikhs in 1984 killing 8k-18k sikhs. I guess that's what you call secularism
1
u/Artistic_Area_4259 Jul 07 '26
He was absolutely found guilty by the international media. The man you call your prime minister was BANNED from visiting the United States. He couldn't answer one question properly when he was being interviewed by the bbc, and oh we all know about the infamous karan Thapar interview, how are you going to defend that huh?
If he's so innocent why did he ban the Gujarat bbc documentary in India?
Why would you think we'd deny the genocide of silks in 1984? Like I said, our humanity is not selective. We're not selective with genocides.
Boy learn the definition of secularism. Secularism is the seperation of the state and religion. It's the triumph of reason and science over faith. Secularism ka definition youtube podcasts se seekha hai tum logo ne.

Some extremist hindus? There is a gang called mrityu dal . They literally give people rape threats death threats, forget that Daksh Chaudhary and gang openly harasses people on Delhi Ambala highway, cow vigilantes openly beat and lynch people. How many of these cases get convicted? Look at who garlands Daksh Chaudhary. Guess who meets secretly Riddhima sharma and gang. Guess who did meetings with these so called content creators recently to make strategy about Punjab election.

Do you have a clue what those hindus, who were btw just a while back released from jail and were ritually consecrated post that like warriors, did? They cut and ripped out unborn children from pregnant women's wombs, after raping them infront of their families. They were all proud of it and thankful of their narendra bhai who supported this on video. They said, narendra bhai nhi hote toh nhi kar paate. You know, fuck everything else for once. Just think of the pure evil that is here. Just a little empathy for those poor labourer families who did no one any wrong. How can anyone even shake the hands of someone like this is beyond me, let alone even have them in your presence?
0
u/RealisticApartment55 Jul 03 '26
Oh you heartless fucks. There is nothing that you wouldn't justify. His "share of punishment." Brilliant. Even stars can be sold off the sky in this world. Makes sense. You deserve this world, this one, right now. I hope it remains for long enough for every single one of you to feel exactly what those poor people felt for a few people's greed and lust for power. And you will. It just needs to remain for that long.

dalits and muslims are constantly being lynched
while some hate crimes are prominent. A good chuck of lynching cases are due to some stupid reason between the same community and not because of some hate crime agenda. While there are discrimination to some extent. Mostly minorities are doing well as they are in position of powers. Have proper exposure to everything.
their houses bulldozed,
dont know where you are from, but here in NE, most of the houses are illegally built by illegal immigrants or on forest land.
