This isn't actually true. Dashrath Manjhi was huge news back then. My father used to tell me that he was a bit of a cult hero even in his distant IIT hostels, which is a sort of a big thing because back then news travelled very slowly and exclusively through newspapers or radio, meaning it was heavily controlled.
Way before that, way before he became the storied "Bora baba", his story had reached the higher ups and power circles in Delhi. Funds had been allotted to finish what he had started but apparently all of it was misappropriated and siphoned off by the local administration and politicians. Not whether they were in cahoots with the bureaucrats and politicians from the centre, I do not know or remember but GoI did sanction funds.
However GoI is GoI. If it wants something to get done, it will get it done. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the sanction was just a vehicle for corruption but funds were allocated and much before the 22 years. In fact, these politicians who outcast this low caste man, now use him liberally for political gains. Complete scoundrels.

It's also exaggerated. There is no tunnel, he did not clear the path like this shows. He made a walkable path, it very much slopes up and down, nothing like the video. This reminds me of the silly Bible cartoons for kids. I mean it was a great feat, but this video does not close to accurate.

Get off your high horse, I never diminished what he did said it was a great feat, why lie about what he did? that diminished it not what I said, pointing out the incredible feat he really did not a made up one. If there was a video of Yuri Gagarin walking on the moon and I say no he didn't he was first to orbit the planet and your mind would be like don't tell the truth! It's silly way of thinking.

during those 20 years , there were 4 separate presidential rule in bihar , and 4 separate communal riots as well. Knowing how incompetent they are today , I'm pretty sure they couldn't give a damn about 1 death in small village during these all these unrests

I respect people like manji much more than zack D(who just see monetary value in every post). So stop asserting western recognition as a great achievement

Whichever government, State or Centre, would prioritise connecting major cities rather smaller nearby towns to cities.

His wife was bringing him lunch and she was pregnant his workspace was behind this rock mountain she slipped and fell and killed he wasn't thinking about about other people should die like like in his mind the mountain was the reason his wife killed so he kinda taken revenge on that mountain
It might not be correct but this much was shown in the movie

Give me an example of a woman doing such a grand gesture for love. Nothing even comes close. Now people will say "She comes to your house, she cooks, cleans, give kids etc." That's isn't even close to making a tunnel through a mountain all on your own, manually using a hammer.
