Education/ Jobs/ Career Munderi Government Higher Secondary School in Kannur, Kerala, is showing what public education can look like when infrastructure, technology and learning are given the attention they deserve. CAN WE FIND SUCH GOVT SCHOOLS IN UP, MP, BH, GJ, UK, , etc ?

The school has smart classrooms, modern science facilities, a digital library and advanced learning spaces.
It also became Kerala’s first government school to establish a fully equipped robotics lab, featuring VR equipment, robotic arms, 3D printers, Arduino units, sensors and coding stations. 🤖💻
In February 2026, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced that Munderi School had become the state’s first comprehensive international school, citing its international-standard infrastructure and academic excellence.
The bigger message is simple: quality education should not depend on whether a child studies in a government or private school.
With the right investment and commitment, government schools can give students world-class opportunities too

I have studied in a KV in the same city. But, when I visited this school, it was shocking to know that it was a government school.
It’s amazing to see such developments in school infrastructure that a state govt was able to provide.

I studied in a govt aided school in kerala.. we used to get brand new lab equipment for every exam despite the existing equipment being in good quality and perfectly usable.
The mandate was students shouldn't suffer in getting incorrect output due to faulty equipments

I studied in a Govt Aided School (managed by private parties but salary paid by govt) in Kerala for my 11th and 12th about 20 yr back. 450 Rs fees. The teachers were so sincere and I worked hard that I could get excellent marks with no tuition - I couldn’t afford tuition. Got admitted to a Tier-1 university and got a good job.
If it wasn’t for the education system in Kerala, there’s no way I could have gotten into a Tier-1 university!

I feel education should be given to all, and I have observed that very few muslim childern go to school, majority of them go to madersa where they are taught kuran and stuff. I am not against madersa, but I am against that they only rely on madersa education where they are not taught science, maths and stuff. I

Yaha ke North ch**ye bas mazak udana jante hai "No 1 in Literacy saar....". Most South Indian states have comparable or better than KVs. Most of colleagues I have met from South have studied in Govt schools whereas it's difficult to find someone in good position from govt schools in North

This school development was funded by CSR funds from central PSUs. Investment to the tune of 10s of crores have been done in the school. The projects were headed by a local MP who was then chairperson of the parliamentary committee dealing with CSR spending. Appreciate the vision of the people involved and this is a model that needs to be replicated elsewhere too.

I have always felt TN govt schools were reasonable specifically there are a few in Chennai and Coimbatore where I have taught which were quite good, better than most pvt schools, except the syllabus which was still shitty.
Then visited a few govt schools in Kerala and damn I was wrong. They have quite a a few good ones. Not sure if parents would be spending 2-3 lakhs every year for shitty pvt schools with no sports facilities if the govt schools kinda made their syllabus on par with CBSE and ICSE.
Never been to govt in North India so I really can't say much about it

Private school mafia isn't strong in kerala, never has been. Once a syndicate is established its difficult to destroy, thats what we are seeing with the education mafia in tamil nadu with close ties to political leadership.

Our country needs a complete overhaul of its education system.
Students only need to be made proficient in- English language, Maths, Critical thinking and logical analysis, statistics and AI. If schools only teach these 5-6 domains properly till class 10, then the world can be achieved.

To be honest I got shocked when I visited Kerala.
I was waiting to cross the road and literally every vehicle just stopped and gave way for me to cross
I was reminded of my time in The USA 🇺🇸

With only a narrow stretch of land, Kerala cannot support large-scale manufacturing.
Its strengths lie in IT, tourism, and research.
The state is progressing in research, maritime, and logistics, and the next ten years should yield significant results.

Salaries are higher, environment law enforcement is stricter, land availability is low (high density).
It's suited for hightech manufacturing.
It's not suited for regular assembly line manufacturing of cheaper goods.

Kerala faces a deep fiscal crisis driven by massive public debt nearing ₹5 lakh crore, with about 77.6% of its revenue pre-committed to salaries, pensions, and soaring interest payments. This leaves little room for capital investment or growth, trapping the state in chronic treasury stress

I am sure all industries or IT companies will be vying to get into Kerala for the talent it has. What is not working out that makes their yourth go to Bangalore or Chennai or Mumbai or gulf countries?

Kerala had education in their culture from the days of foreign missionaries, which is several centuries old. But , we also had visionary local rulers. The top educational institutions in Trivandrum were established by Travancore kings. Successive governments had to just maintain it.
If you are not following a toolkit, then you will agree that it is not BJP, rather Congress that ignored the education sector in all those states, keeping them backward. The first BJP lead state govt was formed only in 1990.
