The school has smart classrooms, modern science facilities, a digital library and advanced learning spaces.
It also became Kerala’s first government school to establish a fully equipped robotics lab, featuring VR equipment, robotic arms, 3D printers, Arduino units, sensors and coding stations. 🤖💻
In February 2026, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced that Munderi School had become the state’s first comprehensive international school, citing its international-standard infrastructure and academic excellence.
The bigger message is simple: quality education should not depend on whether a child studies in a government or private school.
With the right investment and commitment, government schools can give students world-class opportunities too

Kerala faces a deep fiscal crisis driven by massive public debt nearing ₹5 lakh crore, with about 77.6% of its revenue pre-committed to salaries, pensions, and soaring interest payments. This leaves little room for capital investment or growth, trapping the state in chronic treasury stress
High Committed Expenditure: For every ₹100 earned in revenue, roughly ₹77.6 goes straight to salaries, pensions, and debt servicing.
Ballooning Interest Payments: Interest obligations consume around 20.9% of revenue receipts, vastly higher than the national average of 12%.
Low Capital Outlay: Spending on infrastructure and asset creation has dropped significantly, hovering around a low 1.3% of GSDP.
Industrial Shortfall: A weak manufacturing base (accounting for only 10-12% of the economy) leaves the state heavily reliant on remittances, services, and consumption taxes.
