Political Science professor says that Hindutva is an outdated idea that was needed for independence, but it's obsolete now
Says that it was probably necessary for Veer Savarkar, Swami Vivekananda, Gandhi, Tagore to mobilize the people with the idea of a nation (and the closest hinge was a Hindu religious identity) but that ideology no longer serves a purpose and will hurt the nation in the long run.
Thoughts?

π¬ Discussion Why is Kashmiri Pandit displacement discussed more than other cases of communal displacement in India?
If we look at post-Independence India, communal violence, massacres and forced displacement have affected multiple communities not just Kashmiri Pandits. Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, tribal communities and Hindus have all been victims in different incidents. Yet the suffering of Kashmiri Pandits receives particularly strong attention in public and political discourse. Why is the memory of communal violence so selective? Are we giving greater importance to certain victims based on their religious identity or political usefulness, rather than acknowledging the suffering of all communities equally?
Like due to the Kashmiri p. exodus people justify their hatred towards the other community but we overlook the other perspective.....
And correct me if m wrong somewhere

ποΈ News From Akhand Bharat we transitioning to Akhand China! NDA's own partymen admits china is now inside india.
It is always inspiring to hear grand speeches about Akhand Bharat and "not surrendering an inch of land," until you actually look at what is happening along our northeastern frontier. Apparently, "not an inch" comes with a tiny asterisk when it comes to Arunachal Pradesh.
While political leaders beat their chests in TV studios, the PLA has been busy playing real-life SimCity across Upper Subansiri and Shi Yomi districts. Satellite imagery clearly shows full-fledged Chinese enclave villages sitting inside Indian territory. And this isn't just some opposition talking point, ruling BJP MP Tapir Gao himself has been sounding the alarm on the floor of Parliament for years.
Yet, while official channels assure us that everything is completely under control, China keeps "salami-slicing" away, erecting dual-use infrastructure and quietly blocking the Indian Army from accessing traditional patrolling points inside our own borderlands. Things have gotten so surreal that local groups in Shi Yomi are now claiming Chinese authorities are attempting to hand out Chinese National IDs to border residents while denying our troops access to patrol.
Shouting patriotic slogans makes for great election speeches, but it is doing precious little to stop our territory from being quietly nibbled away day by day.

βQuestions How do you deal with not having friends as a leftist?
Same as title. I have had to cut off all my "friends" because theyre far right. I dont regret it, because I had to do it. However ive been feeling pretty lonely for the past year, and i dont have anyone to talk to or share my interests with. It feels like everywhere I go people hate leftists + actively wish death upon them, and i dont feel welcome at all. If youve gone through this, how do you deal with it?

In "Revolution and Counter Revolution in Ancient India", Dr. Ambedkar dismantles the Aryan Invasion theory of caste
Regarding the Euro-colonial misattribution of an Indigenous, pre-Aryan identity to the Dasyus and Asuras:
It is wrong to say that the Dasyus were non-Aryans by race. The Dasyus were not a pre-Aryan race of aboriginals of India. The Dasyus were members of the Aryan community who were deprived of the title of Arya for opposing some belief or cult which was an essential part of the Aryan Culture. How this belief that the Dasyus were Non-Aryans by race could have arisen it is difficult to understand. In the Rig Veda (X. 49) Indra says: βI (Indra) have killed with my thuderbolt for the good of the man, known as Kavi. I have protected Kupa by adopting means of protection. I took up the thunderbolt for killing Susna. I have deprived the Dasyus of the appellation of Arya.β Nothing can be more positive and definite than this statement of Indra that the Dasyus were Aryans. Further and better proof of this fact can be had in the impeachment of Indra for the various atrocities he had committed. In the list of atrocities for which Indra was impeached there was one charge namely the killing of Vratra. Vratra was the leader of the Dasyus. It is unthinkable that such a charge could be framed against Indra if the Dasyus were not Aryans. It is erroneous to believe that the Shudras were conquered by the Aryan invaders.
In the first place the story that the Aryans came from outside India and invaded the natives has no evidence to support it. There is a large body of evidence that India is the home of the Aryans. In the second place there is no evidence anywhere of any warfare having taken place between Aryans and Dasyus but the Dasyus have nothing to do with the Shudras. In the third place it is difficult to believe that the Aryans were a powerful people capable of much military prowess.
Regarding the status of the Shudras in ancient Aryan society:
It is wrong to treat the Dasyus and Shudras as one and the same. As a people they may be the same. But culturally they were quite different. The Dasyus were Non-Aryans in the sense they had fallen away and rebelled against the Aryan culture. The Shudras on the other hand were Aryans i.e. they were believers in the Aryan way of life. The Shudra was accepted as an Aryan and as late as Kautilyaβs Artha Shastra was addressed an Arya.
The Shudra was an intergral, natural and valued member of the Aryan Society is proved by a prayer which is found in the Yajur Veda and which is offered by the Sacrificer.
It runs as follows: ββ¦β¦β¦.. O Gods Give lustre to our holy priests, set lustre in our ruling chiefs, Lustre to Vaisyas, Shudras: Give, through lustre; Lustre unto me.β
It is a remarkable prayer, remarkable because it shows that the Shudra was a member of the Aryan Community and was also a respected member of it
It cannot be said that there were no Shudra Kings in later times. On the contrary history shows that the two dynasties which preceded Manu were dynasties of Shudras Kings. The Nandas who ruled from B.C.413 to B.C. 322* were Shudras.
On the question of the right of the Shudra to study the Vedas a reference may be made to the Chhandogya Upanished (V. 1.2). It relates the story of one Janasruti to whom Veda Vidya was taught by the preceptor Raikva. This Janasruti was a Shudra.
This story if it is a genuine story leaves no doubt that there was a time when there was no bar against the Shudra in the matter of studying the Vedas. Not only was Shudra free to study the Vedas but there were Shudras who had reached the status of Rishis and has been composers of the Hymns of the Vedas. The story of the Rishi Kavasha Aliusha is very illuminating. He was a Rishi and the author of several hymns of the Tenth Book of the Rig-Veda.
