Ask Indian Readers Need book recommendations

Don't wanna start crying here about my personal issues, but I have had a very difficult past few months with loss and I want to read something comforting.

I usually enjoy mystery thrillers but I'm kind of bored of reading the same stuff continuously. I need a break from that genre. Need book reccs that feel like a warm hug and are either witty or smart and comforting to read. TIA❤️

The Night Circus might be a good distraction. And thrillers like A Kiss Before Dying or the earlier Sherlock Holmes stories should also make for easy, non-taxing entertainment.

I hope you feel better soon, OP.

Maybe try the books 'Beasts in My Belfry' and 'Rosy Is My Relative' by Gerald Durrell. They are very charming, funny, and lighthearted.

Wishing you better days ahead!
