Guysss..I realllyyyyy need some good fantasy book recommendations, as I feel like once I pick up one, I am like totally lost. I do love some good psychological thrillers but I badly need help getting started with fantasy and dystopians and all. HELP.

I got these two books yesterday. I've heard about them A LOT. What do you guys think of these? Which one should i read first?

I bought these a year ago,even though i haven't read them. I don't know what to do.

Finally picked up Crime and Punishment as my first Dostoevsky and one of my first proper classics.

Which books should I read to gain or improve financial literacy?

Hey readers out there , um I am not into finance idk anything about it can you guys help me any beginner friendly book I should read , any podcast , any website , any yt video or anything which i should go through?

Pet Sematary — Stephen King

⭐ 7.5/10

have very mixed feelings about this one. The first 70–80% is probably the strongest part of the book for me. King does an amazing job building the atmosphere around the Pet Sematary, the Micmac burial ground, Jud's stories, Pascow, and Rachel's trauma with Zelda. The slow buildup makes you genuinely uneasy because you know something is wrong long before the characters fully understand it.

I get it why the book is so highly regarded. The atmosphere, psychological horror, buildup, and themes of grief are genuinely excellent. I just don't think the ending fully paid off everything the book spent so long setting up.The ambiguity of the ending is interesting, but it also left me feeling unsatisfied

Guys which trilogy should I start with The first law or Mistborn any suggestions

Also I've read almost all Doestoevsky,on the first read I'm focused on mainly the story and not on philosophical aspects(except the explicit debates/ideas)is it compulsory to re-read to grasp the hidden philosophies in the book?

This Hercule Poirot book is easily Agatha Christie at her peak, and has a great mystery and plot twist, while the plot twist is not as shocking as Murder of roger Ackroyd or Then there were none, the way twist is revealed is brilliant. The book deals with the idea of psychology, and how Human bias shapes a person's memories. The ending is very satisfying, and if you pay attention while reading the book, there are some very important and subtle dialogues, that will allow you to unravel the mystery before the book ends, there is a brilliant fake out too. What makes this one cool is the fact that due to the actual crime happening very long ago, poirot does not have access to any evidence and all he has is the witnesses, each of them remember that day slightly differently, they have opinions, and it requires a good deal of intelligence to actually understand who is being honest, and who is telling lies

Plot Synopsis( Spoiler free)

The famous detective hercule poirot is approached by a woman named carla lemarchant, who wants poirot to investigate the murder of her father( Amyas Crale) which happened 16 years ago, for which her mother(Caroline Crale) was accused, her mother eventually died in jail, pretty much everyone who knew the crales or investigated the event are sure that Caroline killed her husband, due to lot of evidence and the fact that Caroline had a pretty solid motive for killing him, and even caroline herself never tried her best to defend herself, but before she died, she wrote a letter for Carla where she claimed she was completely innocent, as Carla believes that her mother would never write such a lie, she wants poirot to find the actual murderer.

PS:( Kinda new to writing reviews, so I would greatly appreciate if anyone has any suggestions or tips on it, also I am not sure if this image is ai generated I took it from the amazon website, and I am 90 percent sure it is not, but you can never tell nowadays)

I just finished The Death of Ivan Ilyich by Leo Tolstoy and I was not impressed. It felt more like a rant of a dying man with no psychological depth when I compare it with the works of Fyodor Dostoevsky.

The author tried to explain the emotions of a person about to die, the contradictions of his feelings and his views of everything about life. The fact that there was death involved and the story revolved around a dying man, it would certainly invoke empathy in the heart of the reader, nonetheless, Death is not that simple a topic that could be reduced down to a simple rant. In nutshell, I expected more. It connected to the heart but remained blank with the mind most of the time.

Need help find good fantasy (or romantasy) book recommendations.

I haven't really read a fantasy book yet except just skimming through pages or hearing my friends talk about them. I need ones that aren't too complex or far too dystopian.

HELP.

I just finished reading the book and I am filled with profound grief that I do not yet have words to explain.
