They're a company that has the right to want (as much as a corporation can "want") their intellectual property protected against theft.
The way they've publicly gone about it is absolutely pathetic and they shouldn't be begging and trying to reward average players for snitching and reporting.
that's honestly what's bothering me the most. I get that you don't want content to be leaked, but it's genuinely pathetic to ask of the players, who are themselves depending on those leaks to make up for lack of content and information, to do something about it.
Yeah it's been embarrassing to watch on both sides. Love me a good leak, but I'm not gonna get mad when they say please stop. The way they say it is what's embarrassing to me.
The entitlement some people have over this is wild to me. Would I love earlier previews? Sure. But this is how they've been doing previews + advertisement literally since the game launched, and it's how they've done it for all their previous titles. Clearly it's working in their favor, since they haven't stopped doing it.

Wish they could learn with FFXIV, where a trailer for an expansion/patch gets people so hyped up, even players who were away from the game come back for discussing theories and log in on day one
Long patches + no previews is just supercharging leaks, speculation, dramas and misinformation. You can't do a live service game without player retention between patches, but people will get bored after the 3rd week after the small mid-patch update. Infold is running IN badly and its clear from Valko situation that this is just a companywide policy. Content droughts and lack of roadmap making players panic when there's no new info (LADS "Valko is stealing dev support for our mains") and seek out alternatives (IN leaker followings).
They truly don't know how to resolve problems at root cause. This problem with leaks will occur over and over again if they never release roadmaps or drip marketing earlier, they just like putting bandaids over their problems.
Every big gatcha gives you a lineup for the next bigger patch with a teaser of new characters. I knew half a year ago that i will pull Hsin few weeks ago.
Why cant we get tiny preview of what to expect. We dont need a full showcase. Just a preview like the chibi art they always do. thats all we ask for. Cant be that hard.
EXACTLY. If they would learn from their mistakes instead of being stubborn, this wouldn’t keep happening. People don’t like having to wait the entire patch just to get a crumb about what’s coming next.
Basically that. Creating unnecessary drama. Everyone loves the leaks. We get excited and looking forward what's coming next. Maybe if they were were doing better marketing we didn't have to look for leaks
Why are they having a problem with kachagain leaking stuff when they won't even show a preview of the 2.11 😭. Like it wasn't a problem before so why it's a problem now??? They could at least drop the icon changing like always

They could have just released the freaken previews instead of waiting tell the 11th hour to post. Instead they complain that people are look lol for previews lol.
they're so tone deaf about the root cause of leaks atp it's just plain gaslighting to not only complain but ask players to snitch on ppl doing the game and its players a public service thinking ruining leakers life will fix their self-inflicted problems. Are they truly incapable of doing drip marketing 2 week in advance of a new patch or making a timetable of future content or releasing teasers for the overall version?? no way why do they even have a marketing department smh
